I would like to see patience last maybe 5 fishes. Seeing as for the same GP, miners can generally gather 2 more items or up to 3 collectables with 200 more guaranteed.
Square, can we have an OCE fanfest now?
I think that you'll find that many posting in this thread have a similar lineup of achievements. Here click on my lodestone, I think i know a thing or 2 about fishing in this game

Regardless, whether or not you can predict how long it will take to fish up a fish, it's still ridiculous that a player should still have a penalty, while removing the tool that was designed to remove that penalty.
Your suggestion to just not cast if the Patience timer is low is a WORKAROUND for an obviously poor design. It's a band-aid, not a solution. The folks in this thread have it right: Hooksets should be usable at ANY time, not just when Patience is active, to cover the (frequent) cases when it wears off while your line is still in the water. Sure, you can wait, but you shouldn't have to.
Heh, linked to show that I am not bullshitting, and not some 2000 feet long e-peen. At least you got it, I am only here to make a suggestion/workaround/band-aid/solution.Your suggestion to just not cast if the Patience timer is low is a WORKAROUND for an obviously poor design. Patience action still makes mooching and getting HQ fish helluva easier, poorly designed or not . 20 HQ Silver Sovereigns? No problem. HQ Storm rider? No problem. Spend the whole window trying to HQ a Wahoo? Not a problem. Going to a spot, 1 window early just to pre-mooch for the next window? Not anymore.
Did I jog some of those fond memories?

The tug time is variable, not allways the same time for same size pull. Also it often fails after it goes off, so its like the penalty buff were applied at time of the cast doing.Example:
Bladed jig bite time, 30 Secs for hard tug, 20 secs for medium. If going for big fish and patience timer is below 30 secs after mooch why mooch again? Simple solution, just wait for the buff to drop, then mooch for the big fish.
Now use that and apply it to frilled shark for example, would a FSH start the mooch after giant octopus when patience is below 30 secs?
indeed it may be wonderfull, but the trouble is that is level 51 skill, and from there you can easily buy a npc shop rod/equipment for this level instead going to go painfull hell to do those exchanges nowPatience action still makes mooching and getting HQ fish helluva easier, poorly designed or not . 20 HQ Silver Sovereigns? It does. Your HQ rate seems to stay as well even after Patience wears off, but catching the thing to begin with without the hooksets becomes the problem.
