Is there a thread on this topic in the Japanese/French/German forums? I doubt the English community is the only one bringing this up, but curious how our fellow players across the seas are responding to this.

They can still surprise us with 3.x patches. I don't think that people started leaving a lot, more like they started being aware of the problem.
But if we get 4.0 in 2017 and it will be a copy of 3.0 but instead of flying we will have swimming.. well, R.I.P SE.
In 3.x we should get these airship adventures for FC members (finally some reason to actually be in FC), new GC ranks and their progression should be different than in the past. This new stuff won't be enough but it might be a nice start.
Gaming = Wasting time. It's either you waste it on game A or game B!"So you can waste my time again?"
I do want more variety of gameplay though.
E.g.
Inter race PvP. CTF PvP. Deathmatch PvP.
Triggered HNM that requires 64 man to kill it.
64man Dynamis type of dungeons that drops uber loots.
Perhaps OP is just tired of grinding. I have still so much to do (i play casually since 16th Aug 2013). I still have sightseeing logs/fishing logs/lots of cards to collect and many crafting jobs to reach 50 lol

You seem to have missed my point. EQ2's first expansion added a minion battle arena, climbing and an open world city invasion among a number of other things. The second added an alternate advancement system giving a new form of progression and further character customization. Those were entirely new gameplay systems that gave players other things to do besides the normal repetitive play session. That's not to mention EQ2 had incredibly long epic side quests added with each expansion that kept players going for quite a while (think relic weapon but based on challenge instead of grind and equivalents for multiple slots).
Heavensward added no real new systems for PvE content. We got flying as a QoL improvement but it didn't really change anything gameplay-wise. The only new system was the collectibles and scrips system for DoHs and DoLs... and the response to that has been largely negative so far.
We need new gameplay systems.

I wish they would NOT kill the entire 2.0-2.55 content with this new 3.0 shiny (that is more of a hot mess right now). Ixtali Beastmen quest reward is NERFED after you reach level 50. All endgame level 50 dungeons are worthless other than do it once a day via duty finder. Trials are worthless other than once a day DF. Primals Extreme? waste of time. Relic Weapon? Yeah right, why bother. Coil? Nope, good luck finding people. Crystal Towers? LOL, seriously? I rather they focus on bringing those old content as viable alternate ways to earn Esoteric and add more relevant crafting materials, minions, exp to level 50 dungeons, etc.. so that there are more variety.
Right now, by making 2.0-2.55 obsolete - it just put a glaring spotlight on how "lite" 3.0 content is, that there is not much to do. As well as the obvious "gating" content and slowing down progression with the scripts fiasco...

Hrm, my motivation died sometime last week, I dunno I just kinda got bored with the game or something, which is kinda a downer since Ive invested so much time into it, ah well maybe I'll get interested again in a few months, that is unless Blade and Soul or Black Desert decide to pop out with their NA release.

collectibles and the blue scrips are an amazing addition and haven't seen anything negative about those two. It is the red scrips and all their gating through the red scrips that can burn forever in the Abyss...

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

Black Desert and Blade and Soul have the same topic u brought up on their forum. With Black Desert it's a contest on who can post the most negative threads.Hrm, my motivation died sometime last week, I dunno I just kinda got bored with the game or something, which is kinda a downer since Ive invested so much time into it, ah well maybe I'll get interested again in a few months, that is unless Blade and Soul or Black Desert decide to pop out with their NA release.
