One-Handed Caster Weapons and Shields?

Sentinels were never a thing as far as know. Maybe something was planned and never used, but I never saw them in 1.0. Maybe they can do something with them to make extra jobs in another expack. Split cnj and thm like acn where they are wand and shield and mace and shield classes. Making the cnj split dps and the thm split a healer.

Sentinel was a thing in 1.0. It was a side skill that gave you more shield skills, increased blocking, etc.

Just like GLA/PLD could use Daggers, but then NIN came along. Shields might be moved to some other Job or phased out.

Running design seems that the weapon type defines the Job.
Any Job with more than one weapon type, is just asking for giving it over to some new Job later on or for it to be phased out.

Sentinels was a kind of hidden stat that raised up and unlocked skills. a pld for example woud have pld and sentinel that needed to be levelled.

Its more than likely they dropped it after goofing up the Allagan weapon for BLM and the excessive amounts of complaining about having to upgrade both the weapon and shield with Mirrors of the Whorl that never dropped.

I remember how badass I felt when I first got my Allagan Scepter. I wouldn't mind a wand/shield combo as long as you can get them at or around the same time.

I'd be happy if we can at least glamour wands/shield. I have to say that I quite like the look of my WHM using a shield.

Otherwise, no need for ilv 200+ wands/shield

I didn't like them but maybe they are going to give it to a new job in the future? Though it seems they dropped them. They could still use some shorter rod, still 2H, just for style anyway.

I hope SE will not listen to these wand/shield lovers because they're gonna please 50 people from every server combined but upset the rest of the caster players.

I think BLM and WHM should keep using only staves, but we could introduce a new class that uses shield and a wand?
