I agreed with you in my post. You can easily get by without a warrior. But it certainly helps to have one.You missed my point. Storm Path is over-f&#%ing exaggerated even if it "eases" healing.
If there is no WAR, NIN HAS to apply DE. What is the problem here? No body is talking about a bunch of PuGs here. In a PuG you pick up whatever tank/DPS/healers you get. In a static you are more selective and people ALWAYS choose WAR. Which is what I'm trying to say here.

To my knowledge the only DPS nerf cases were BRD (~5% less DPS) in 2.1 and NIN (lol1% less DPS) in 2.45. Holy got a nerf from 240 to 200 in 2.1 too.
MNK was never nerfed when it left everyone else in the dust. MNK only saw buffs. DRG only saw buffs. BLM only saw buffs. SMN saw a slight nerf when they lost Thunder in 2.1.
3.0 saw a nerf in Flare and Holy.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this.
Not sure if it's been mentioned or not but I guess one disadvantage woukd be not being able to eat double prey in Ravana ex.. that's not that big of a deal though.
Yeah, this is more a disadvantage of Holmgang needing a target than WAR as a whole.
And what repoe said, though that requires coordination with your healers vs just pressing a button.
This is extremely late, but I'd like to point out that the WAR was MTing and started in Defiance, thus lowering his opening burst and likely not going for 3x Fell Cleave (also he had to deal with Seeing Left/Right which costed him GCDs). This is more an example of how you min/max tank damage - WAR MT and DRK OT. WAR can use his highest damaging combo without fear of pulling hate and so can the DRK since DRK's highest potency combo doesn't generate extra enmity. Same goes for WAR + PLD.

However it's also strictly true that compared to Hallowed Ground, Holmgang sucks and it sucks really bad. That's a big single disadvantage of WAR right there vs PLD and it has been like that since the beginning of ARR. Hell in 2.0 Holmgang was a skill no one used, they didn't even add the Can't Die for 6 Seconds until 2.1. To this day, PLD is still the only tank with a 10 Seconds Invincibility button, since DRK was given Living Dead and that somehow manages to be even worse than Holmgang.
Well, PLD can live through Quad prey. Doesn't really help the raid, except to show off a rarely used skill, blind the raid with your divine radiance, and have women throw themselves at your body.
Manly mode right there.

Downside to warriors: no one takes us on raids because we spend all our time complaining on the forums instead of actually playing the game.

And FWIW, the fact that we have so many topics on the matter kinda speaks to it not being an "imaginary" problem.
Noone is saying to nerf WAR. EVERYONE enjoys the way WAR works and are excited for having a tank that is so "good" or "useful".
Now suddenly its wrong to expect the other two tanks to catch up.
