Have you tried running FFXIV in Direct x 9 mode?

Basing info from this:
Faulting application name: ffxiv_dx11.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x55b2d5a0
Faulting module name: ffxiv_dx11.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x55b2d5a0
Exception code: 0xc0000409

This is a indicator of STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN (0xc0000409)
Might suggest running the game in Direct x 9 or downgrading back to last known OS. Not sure if compatibility more will help you here.
Thanks for your response! Greatly appreciate it. I have tried switching to DirectX 9.0, but instead of crashing, the window simply closes (so the game launches after hitting "Play", then closes within two seconds). I may have to just roll back to Windows 8.1. Just hate to do that, though, since FFXIV is literally the only program/game to give me issues.

Thanks again!
