We need private instance housing

Part of the fun and interest in housing is the fact that it is in the world. That I have neighbors that I can see and interact with. More than a few of my FC's Coil/Alex statics have found members from the FCs around our house just by being interactive.

Its true that SE should have made a better system for "Rooms" than they did. An "apartment" complex would have been an option that was better than the FC room system. Something akin to Aion's room system would have been interesting and wouldn't require you to be a part of an FC if you didnt want to be. But just no to full houses being private instances. Its not fun or conducive to an active MMO world.

It's possible to have your cake and eat it too. WildStar is implementing a "community" system where you can choose up to 5 plots to plug into a megaplot so that they're all physically connected to each other, creating a neighborhood.
