Player Housing - What are the future plans?

I'm interested in purchasing a personal house, but they are quite expensive due to the fact you need to buy out another player, and then pay the original purchase fee. Before I jump in and try to find a seller, I'd like to at least get an update from SE on the plans for player housing.

- Do you plan on releasing new wards in the current zones anytime soon?

- Do you have any updates regarding the possible Ishgard housing zone?

- Will future housing areas follow the same path of shared instancing, limiting the overall amount of plots available? Or will you be moving to a private instance mode for player housing?

Those of you who don't have a house, and can't afford the double fee of buying someone out and purchasing the land after, are you hoping for new wards to finally get your hands on a house? I feel that this system in the game is reserved for the select few, and a majority of players will never experience player housing themselves unless this is addressed.

They DO plan on releasing new wards in ishgard eventually. Far as we know it will follow the same model as the current housing also.

FFXIV Housing is a true innovation in the MMORPG genre where players are classified into ranks based on whether they have enough virtual currency quickly enough. It allows the game company to implement otherwise impractical systems for an absolute minority of the player population, even though all those players may be paying the same subscription fee. It effectively forms a subsidization system where the majority of the customers is paying for enjoyment of the minority, a truly novel and unprecedented system in the MMORPG industry.

FFXIV Housing undoubtedly sets a new mark and we cannot wait to see what the next new innovations they bring to this age-old genre of gaming.

Any new wards will be the same. The core philosophy of the limited-supply model needs to change if housing is to be available to all players. This is one area where I will outright give FFXIV a big red FAIL.

but wouldnt those who do more or extra with this same fee, such as earning the gil to afford a house be entitled to the extras? or should those who log in just to afk all day be granted the same extras for absolutely 0 work? housing atm, though limited is not impossible. atm you just have to work a little harder for it. now Aion did have free (no in game currency cost) instanced housing which i believe would be more ideal. but to create more wards and more houses to fulfill the current demand.... sorry id rather the memory and space be used for more content

Every time I see future housing threads, I have to actively roll my eyes. It takes less effort to search the board for pre-existing threads than it does to actually make a new one and type out the questions that have already been answered literally hundreds of times before.

Necroing old threads? Some of them are less than two weeks old. Though I guess in some circles that's SO old. He wouldn't have even needed to necro any thread regardless since all of his questions had been answered before. Many times. In many different housing threads.

but ur original comment has been posted countless times before in many different ways. so if we went back far enough the only proper threads according to some of the more opinionated persons would be the originals of a topic. which by that standard would require necroing. someone used the forums seeking information and a response from the community. nothing to necessitate rolling your eyes at

New wards to existing housing areas(mist, lavender beds, goblet) are suppose to come out "soon". Soon could mean soon, or it could mean in a few months. Some people are guessing "soon" means 3.1, others think it'll come before or after that. We'll have to see. My FC wants to upgrade to a mansion, so we are waiting patiently for the new wards.
