What they expressed was not concern for the game, but the desire for it to suffer so it would mold itself into something they would better like. That is not an appropriate channel for feedback, I'm sorry. If people are enjoying a game, then they should be permitted to enjoy. Wishing poor financial success is wishing ill on the developers and content players. This completely different premise than expressing a concern, and the response is justified.

Not sure , maybe till Final Fantasy 18~20 or so : Online . Really i was wander what i gonna do when FFXI ends , then 1.0 came , then 2.0 . I just switched , logging back to XI sometimes when free period just to pop some nostalgia , but otherwise i just let it go . So at least for me it XIV will last till next FF Online ( or other MMO if it be better than FF , which i really doubdt )

People are really funny with this grinding tomestone thing. Would you rather be running a dungeon 50+ times to get that ONE drop you need? I've done that in other MMOs. Tomestones as the main avenue for gear is actually pretty innovative for me. Same with level sync. People seem to have blinders on when it comes to "innovation".

Yes, this worked in FFXI, but I don't see it working in FFXIV. People get bored here after doing the same content for 3 months. I don't see people in FFXIV going for spending hours farming pop items, killing an NM, having a low drop rate for an item you want, doing it all over the next day, and repeating that for years. Imagine if all we had was coil 1-5 as endgame from the start til now.

    Awhile.

I base this purely on the fact that SE is smart enough to get the consoles involved. The fact of the matter is that PC players have a plethora of good options for MMO's available to them. Consoles have..... 2. ESO and FFXIV are the only major supported MMOrpg's on the market right now for the console market.

I would wager it lives as long as the life of the PS4 before they start shutting servers down. 7-8 years would be my guess.

Aye, Playerbase would be much lower, the game would have to be way grindier to stretch out the leveling process to keep people playing. And it would have to be grindy to actually access the raids.

I wanted to type the exact same answer but was like: meh, Apples and Oranges

Actually, yes? Because if you play like me and only do Expert roulettes to get esoterics you will do 7 dungeons a week, or 15 just to get the weapon, or 182 dungeon runs to get eso for one class.

And no: i wont raid for BiS items, because raiding is impossible with my work schedule and i cba to find a group thats willing to have the oddest raiding times. Now of course you can ask: Why bother with eso then at all? Well thats easy: Because i do not want to wear sucky i180 gear on my main when 3.2 hits the fan and new tomes get released and it makes the daily roullette faster.

A total of, at max, 182 runs for 10 pieces of gear is better than 50+ for EACH piece of gear. There are people in WoW who went without BiS gear because they couldn't get the drop. At least in this game you are GUARANTEED to get your gear if you put some effort in.

Apply the job System of XIV to WoW and they could've equipped many more classes because of wasted drops that were dropping too often after 50+ successful runs. Thats why the mix of token/drops like in Alex Savage would be the best for me if it was in EXP for eso parts too.

But you cant have everything, and latest in 3.2 with new tomes ill equip everything to i200+ in the end anyways - so meh

And if you didn't have those classes to max level it would be useless drops. For me, if I'm going in as a WHM wanting to gear up my WHM I want some reward that'll help for my WHM job. Not some other job I might never level. I just like the fact that we're guaranteed a reward for the class I want to gear.

First of all you don't know what your talking about. I'm a software engineer so let me give you the inside peek. There are many many roles but the one that has the least amount of say as to the innovation are the devs. They are the second last link in the food chain only second to quality assurance peoples. It goes through executives, project managers, architects, business analysts, systems analysts, technical leads, THEN the lowly developers build the product. They have 0 say as to what that product will look like or how it will function.

I know because I've been in no less than 4 of those above positions.
