So you take it upon yourself to come here and speak for them, making your statement actually irrelevant and just as useless as anybody else's because we don't know if you're telling the truth.

    Alsooooooo....

Do they love the changes, or do they tolerate the changes because they love the new skills and damage boost it brings?

If anyone can honestly say they love having casting times added to a class designed around not having casting times and the various objective problems it brought, then I'd have to consider them strange for playing a Bard when they clearly meant to roll BLM or SMN because they didn't have the cast times they love for 2 years and 52 levels.

Why? It could be as simple as liking the "flavour" of using a bow/gun. I like WM/GB, as it gives me the option to switch on the fly, and I don't mind the cast times, but I hated levelling BLM. Yes, they do more dmg, but BLM bored (and still bores) me. I have a rl friend who's a 60BLM and I log on to his character when he's away and needs to cap tomes and playing it just puts me to sleep. But optimizing BRD/MCH and finding out whether a certain situation calls for being in or dropping out of WM/GB is a lot more intersting to me.

then why don't they leave guass barrel on MCH (since that class was literally made with that skill in mind) and either remove WM from bard or change the new skill where WM isn't required. that's literally the only reason i refuse to lvl my archer into bard right now. i don't like being forced into a combat style in order to use all the skills available to me.

I'd be fine with just not using WM if A. It wasn't such a large dps loss, and B. The two best skills weren't locked behind it.

I've been playing BRD since phase 3 beta of 2.0 and I have been enjoying WM ever since the thing has been released. I also think that the amount of people who does not like WM are also a small vocal minority. Most have adapted but I can't say they like or not. Most of the BRDs I know like the song, though they did not like it at first (because you probably wont see the benefits of WM until EA and IJ) but after hitting lv60 when they have everything, they started to enjoy it.

OP: If you can you should always prioritize your Barrage with Empyreal Arrow. If you're not in WM than just do it on Heavy Shot. If you are planning to go to endgame as brd, It is as others has stated, You should try to stay in WM as long as you can. If You have to move, I suggest you use the LNC skill Feint (Pretty early lvl LNC Skill). As it still get the WM buff but it is not on the Cast timer. Or you can simply just turn it off and turn it on. Atm brd is probably a class where you have to know the fight really well to do comparable to good dps.

thats the thing the only reason people use it is because of the fact that your 2 biggest skills for the lvl 52-60 content are locked behind it... hence why i said they are essentially forcing us into a combat style we might outright hate (if i wanted to play with a cast bar as a DPS i can use SMN or BLM and it would be much smoother overall gameplay than WM anyway)

It would be a large DPS loss if BRDs who didn't use WM at all were outdamaging BRDs who were stance dancing. The only issue I've experienced under WM is the OCD that you develop levelling BRD to 50 in 2.0, because when that Bloodletter resets while casting, your anxiety level rises through the roof. I also don't think BRD is "forced" into a certain playstyle any more than the other jobs. I don't see WARs complaining that Fell Cleave isn't usable under Defiance (healers do that enough for both roles). It's a stance. You go in, you go out.

If it's a personal issue with change and it just doesn't suit your playstyle any more, that's fair. Despite loving Rogue classes and liking NIN, I don't think it feels "Assassin" enough, due to the non-combat stealth and only 1 skill working off of stealth and no real "backstab/burst" skills. But I won't rail against SE to change NIN to suit my personal taste. That's just me though.

It is pointless to say that one group is a minority over the other because we really do not know, and unless a large survey is done no one would have a way of knowing.

I think they just make empyreal arrow and iron jaws able to be used without wanderer's minuet, that would please both people.
I don't think it would be a big dps loss if those 2 abilities were usable outside of wanderer's minuet, with being able to attack while moving, auto attacks, 2 off global cooldown abilities being able to be used between each gcd, and empyreal arrow not delaying a gcd. Though the gap may widen with higher gear levels.
At least people would have a choice and choices are always good.

Lol. If your going to lie at least look at your own join date.
Did you really just assume that you know how long I've been playing because of when I started on the forums? Well I guess that says everything we need to know about you.

So...I'm going to piggy back on this thread and avoid all the arguing to ask a question.

Been a year since I've played. I'm told they changed skill speed to make DoTs hit harder and Crit rate does more crit dmg instead of just increasing your crit chance. What stat is now more important? I stopped playing back in April of last year (went to Navy boot) and my bard focused mostly on crit & det iirc. What should I focus on now? I'm building this i120 set for now and it seems like most of the ironworks gear focuses on skill speed.

tl;dr: Haven't played for awhile. What's more important: Crit or Skl Spd? Thanks!
