Dunno, after spending countless hours learning a fight , i do not want to spend more countless hours waiting for someone else to learn it.
Some players are quick learners and can pick things up on the fly others need to smash into the wall for a few days to get it. I cant bother doing that process again.. to be honest..

I'd rather use my time selling clears and making gils i guess im greedy, elitist scum. but you know what if you already had everything on farm (not that i do in savage yet but in regards to 2.x i did) you probably will change and not feel so inclined to wipe for a week so a guy can learn a fight.

I don't think of myself as an elitist as my well of patience runs deep for learning curves and PvE in general. Then again I am absolute crap at this game.

I'm sure everyone I've played with has headdesked over me at some point

I really should go back to WoW at some point since I am actually GOOD at that game but it's gotten so...

Anyway I'm not Elitist. I'm quite the opposite, whatever that is.

The anti-elitists are more annoying and selfish than the elitists in my experience.

"Wah, why is everyone leaving me behind when I only log in once a week and ERP for half of that time?"
"Wah, I pay the same monthly fee, I'm entitled to the same thing as everyone else!"
"Wah, why won't anyone carry me through all the content?"
"Wah, nobody will help me do old content for the 10th time in a row!"

There are plenty of bad ones on both sides but people sure are quick to call others an elitist when they aren't getting their way.

I'd say it depends on what you're trying to do. If you're at end game content trying to reach the next boss you obviously expect ppl to know the clear bosses with ease, doesn't make you an elitist. However if you're running random roulette and expect everyone to know the duty/dung then its turning a bit more to the elitist side, in my opinion.

I'm glad this opinion is starting to take hold.

In the above example a crafter asking 500k for the craft would very reasonable in my opinion.

Far too many people think crafters magically unlock recipes and gear up without it costing anything (8 crafts geared and master books unlocked in 3.0 cost me around 120mil), so you should be able to tip them 5k for the highest tier crafts, this is not the case.
I am a crafter myself but if I bring items for the sake of building my airship and just cant easily make, or for the sake of not having the class leveled enough, I think a few 1000 gil is a good compensation, not frowning cus you wanted 10k+

When they ask how much when they bring me all the mats and shards/crystals, I tell them to tip me what they think its worth. More often than not they tip more than I expected. @ 50 for melding, I always carried a stack of grade 3. And I would give some to the person who needed the meld if they didnt have any, same again, left how much they gave upto them.

No, you're an elitist for putting someone down and making them feel bad for not performing as well as you. (not you specifically, but that's what elitist means to me)
