Only if those quests don't have a connection to future events, don't have bit of new lore in the texts and don't show you new places (with a bit lore around that place)
But doing that you WILL remove stuff unless suddenly every conversation is 3 times as long since you need to put all the info in there.
I would only agree with this if you already done it on a previous character.
You can't condense the 1-49... It's there for a reason, you HAVE TO prove yourself to the people of Eorza, that you are worth fighting for, that you are the actual WoL...
Even Hercules had to clean out stables...
I bet I really proved myself to the people of eorzea when I ...
Gathered a bunch of items for a feast in honor of myself
Yea. I can see why the people of Eorzea would really love me.
This is pretty much exactly what I'm asking for. I'm talking about condensing these types of quests that are obvious filler to kill time and feign content. There are too many quests that involve traveling across the world for one very simple task and then immediately returning. What if they condensed them in a way that didn't remove any of the actual questing?
For example, I just did 3 quests. All of them were "start in this location, teleport to another, get one thing/talk to one person there, teleport back"
Why not just make all 3 teleports 1 quest, giving the character use of the linkperl to explain why they know to go to another location without returning? I mean, instead of returning after EVERY teleport, you'd only return once, cutting down not only on the total of pointless TP's, but less loading screens (which are my main cause of irritation when MSQ sends me on fetch quest, it's dead gametime)
Most of the "filler" is either setting up the next fight or next big issue, or an issue that shows up a couple patches later, or even stuff that makes its way into the expansion.
The format may be malleable (i.e. condensing multiple quests into one longer quest), but the stuff that's happening in them? Surprisingly little could be cut without later events feeling like they came out of nowhere or were contrived.
That said, I'm surprised it's taken you three weeks. It took me roughly that amount of time when I also had to gear up via soldiery pre-expansion, and you have a headstart on the gear requirements.
Did this really need another thread? Could you have not just bumped the older one with 40 pages?
I just started playing 8 days ago and finished the main quest chain working full time. Theres no issue just put your mind to it and get to work![]()
4.8k exp per quest and i70 when you can just buy vendor i115 items doesnt seem like very great rewards. The story is no problem, but indeed there are too many filler quests that no longer serve a purpose.
The EXP is actually pretty good.
You can almost ignore all side-quests while leveling to 50, you get EXP for the lvl 50 quests which gets you to about halfway to 52, thus you will skip all the level gates in the Heavensward MSQ, etc.
