After playing Blade&Soul CBT2, I have to say the thing I hate most about that game is how antisocially over-instanced everything is.

But the combat is really fun.

I think if FFXIV goes that route, with its crappy autoattack system on top of that, then what reason is left for me to play FFXIV?

right in my opinion they are picking out all these things from other mmo's that only worked with the other stuff they had in them that this game don't have or will never have, or will never be any where near as good. makes no sense to me still an wondering where it's heading.

All I can say is that heavily instanced world + easy powerlevel as explained by Yoshida will lead to an even more dead world. The only life I see in the chatlog now is random people asking for party.
When Linkshells can grab a bunch of lowbies and PL them with a single lvl 50... bye bye to player interaction outside of ls in Eorzea.
