    People absolutely would grind for obscene amounts of time for AF2 quickly. Hell, people have died doing that with other games.

    This, just look at red scrips, because there are no incentives like esoteric expert roulette runs, people spam it til they complete it. Have road blocks is good to an extent but there are certain balancing acts to consider and when it comes to the red caps there are a bit of issues cause unlike esoteric there is only one bottleneck route to take to progress.
