You could probably scroll through a lot of useless items and see people selling them for dumb amounts of gil lol. I doubt they expect it to sell for 500mil, unless they're just barking mad.

Considering the time and effort required, it's worth AT LEAST 100 million gil.

It wont sell for that though. It is just human nature to try to get as much as possible for something especially when that something is new and currently limited in supply despite even them realizing they stand almost no chance at succeeding. Happens every time new content is added with new things people can try to sell for extreme prices early on prior to the market dictating its real value as opposed to the sellers wishful thinking.
