Will we be able to change Free Company names ever?

I would love for us to be able to change free company names. Now before I get told 'why did you pick that one?' and 'just make another!' here is my situation:

My free company was originally made by a group of friends with whom we played another mmo. Many of that original group did not stay. Now we have an entirely new composition of our free company and the name not only doesn't fit anymore but we have no way to change it. I know we can change the tag but that really doesn't solve the problem.
Starting over would mean having to level a new one from scratch (we're well on our way to rank 6 now) and losing our 300k+ in company credits. Also we would have to re-recruit in a situation where many FC's are scrambling to pick people up as well to try to rank up to the new max. Also we have some members who are currently not playing due to financial obligations over the holidays but will be back. I would hate to reform the free company and have them log in and feel abandoned if they cannot find us quickly.
This was an existing concern of ours for several weeks now, but it's even more concerning now as we're considering buying a house and investing a significant amount of gil. If we do that, as I understand it, we lose the house if we have to disband to change the name.

So I ask, will this be an option? Can we expect an ability to change the name?

I would imagine it is disabled to avoid the FC's being 'sold'. Not sure, though. I'm fairly indifferent either way.

I would absolutely love this option. We can already change linkshell names on a whim, but not free companies. As FCs are typically made up of smaller, tight knit groups of friends, I don't see why they shouldn't have the option to put in for a name change. Even if it had a cooldown on it, it would still be a very welcome change.

But wait, where are the doomsayers on this matter to inform us of how the sky will fall if SE even thinks of adding this, or how it shouldn't be in the game simply because they personally do not want it? Oh well, I guess it's up to me!

I wouldn't mind if it was a fee to change the name. I mean even just 50k would be enough of a fee to prevent abuse of it.
But lol, yes I wish we did pick the name we wanted before we knew we wanted it. That would solve this entire issue.

I wouldn't even mind if it was real money like other MMOs do (though I'd prefer a sizable chunk of gil to pay instead). I just want the ability to do so.

While I would also like this feature, it really disturbs me how eager this community is to have micro transactions for every little thing that should probably be included anyway. As mentioned before, you can switch the name of your linkshell so why not your FC?(rhetorical question)

i don't think these are micro transactons as such to the fact the make no personal gain to the game or the content etc.. if the community started saying we want high lvl weapons armour etc for a cost then flat out NO!!

Well, that's cool that you kind of defined micro transactions in your own way, but as far as the actual definition of what they are, this would qualify as one.
