The last one is not like the others. The class is Archer, which is very self explanitory. Same with Lancer which you didn't mention at all.Pugilist is self explainatory but Bards...ehm ok they use an harp and buff people and etcetera, but I don't think that a bow alone fits them: usually bards use all sorts of weapons, even magic (still thinking at D&D lel) and I would've prefferred the bards to be called minstrels of flatout rangers.
Maybe bards could've been sword fighters instead, but I digress here.
Ehm...okay? Archer uses Bows yes but I know some archers also use other kinds of long ranged weapons. But I suppose Archer goes fine with a bow and I'm not really going to nitpick the fact that they can also use swords and such.
However if you mean the archer in-game, as in explained by the archer's story, that's another thing: I forgot the archer quest but I'm sure they explained it well enough and that's fine, I'm not going against it.
I'm just putting out my own take about the Archer and I'm IN NO WAYS saying that they're wrong about it. Just making sure you understand where I'm coming from.
For bard is still the fact that I don't think of solely bow users: I always think of actual melee fighters that can use musical instruments but can ALSO (keyword here ALSO) use long ranged weapon like, as I said, a bow.
But again, it's just my opinion about it: this is how they designed the bards here and I'm not saying they're wrong. I just like the old type of bard, but for the second time, I'm IN NO WAYS saying that they're wrong about it. You can't be never sure...
And for lancer...they use a lance and that's pretty self explainatory too. Again, if you mean the lancer as the game tells you I really don't remember and I'm not going to justify against it: this is yet again my opinion about it and, once again, I'm IN NO WAYS saying that they're wrong about it. Thinking three times is good.
BUT, if anything, they could ALSO be named Hoplites and become tanks, since in a game I played the Hoplite is a tank. wears the heaviest armor and even carries a shield.
And in TERA the lancer uses a spear that it's literally twice the size of a spear in this game AND uses a shield, because they are more reminiscent of the jousting lancers of medieval times. And also they're tanks.
I'm not gonna talk of each class really because, really, it's not a big matter: we can disagree on some topics but in the end it's how SE designed them that's important. There's no certain pattern on designing a class: warriors in this game use an axe, but in others use a sword, bards here only use a bow but in others are melee fighters. It doesn't matter: it's how it is here and they're not changing because it's what they thought a bard or a warrior should fight and, for me, it's completely fine.
.....but of course just because I'm fine with it, it doesn't mean I can't give my two cents about it!![]()
