If they boost the weekly limit, then Square will just increase the prices on the gear anyway.

The reason these threads will always keep popping up has everything to do with how the game is designed. Letting a single player play every job, but then creating a system of end game that forces them to main only one is a contradiction in terms of what they are encouraging players to do. Anyone arguing that it has to do with personal greed has missed the point entirely. The entire end game and inventory system concepts are variants of World of Warcraft, but the base upon which the game was built was inspired by earlier Final Fantasy titles. They aren't compatible systems.

While you can play every job on one character you aren't meant to main more than one job at a time. Casual players play more than one job, while more progression oriented players tend to main one job and play others as alternate jobs for fun. Increasing the cap on progression gear only makes the gear curve ridiculous. Sorry you can't gear up every job right away, but this is the way it needs to be to keep endgame balanced.

Just upping or abolishing the cap doesn't have the desired effect though. If we're talking about having a cap for each job then that's different, but just removing it or upping it skews the balance of the game. The reason these threads will always keep popping up has everything to do with how the game is designed. When in doubt, assume sarcasm
Or it could be that anyone that's played for more than a month has already seen this exact thread, and what it will inevitably become because it's the same arguments since the mythology time cap was 300 at launch.I wonder when the EN forum can mature into a place where everyone's opinions are respected and you either argue sensibly or stay out of the thread. Meme replies are like..."I am unable to say something more catchy but Senpai Please Notice Me---oh hey ma look I'm on TV---so I'm gonna post this meme."
It's a dead horse topic, so posting various dead horse meme is actually on topic for these threads.
peiple complained about the 300 cap. They upped it to 450. People complained about the 450. They lowered weapon costs. And here we are yet again and people want the cap raised higher.
it doesn't matter how many tomes they up the cap to. Someone will make another clone of this thread.
They won't uncapped it for a myriad of design and balance choices, and any cap at all will spawn threads like these. So why bother? Dead horse is dead. Throw it in the QQ pile, post a meme and move on.
oh almost forgot.

This game can be played perfectly casual for those who like to main one...MAYBE 2 jobs, and thats it. If you want to dedicated ALL your free time to this game, that's how they've designed the alt endgame. While I don't agree with it, I also can see the pros and cons for such a thing.

This statement makes no logical sense. If you want more alts geared, it would simply take longer. So if it takes 3 months to gear one job, it will take 6 months to gear a second. But that has absolutely nothing to do with how much time you dedicate to the game overall. This game can be played perfectly casual for those who like to main one...MAYBE 2 jobs, and thats it. The weekly cap can be reached by logging in and running a single dungeon (your Expert Roulette) per day. That's about 30 minutes a day, or 3 hours a week. That is beyond uber casual.

Honestly the prices just need cut in half for everything (BUT) the weapon.
