Until such a time comes when more is actually needed.
Just like how people stayed in HQ pentamelded Patrician through 2-star level 50 and only went higher when that was no longer enough.

Red scrips gear is good for the rest of us.
Thing is, even materials to craft said main/side tools are behind the red-scrips.

It takes between 200 and 300 scrips from your weekly 450 cap to just get the materials to get 1 piece of the armor, accesories or tools. So yeah, crafters will make the chimerical set their new patrician with just HQ tools, thing is, you will still have to go through the scrips to crafting anything anyway. That or taking a gil sink at the MB, which actually, makes it worse, omnicrafters will not die, they will just take longer and will become richer. Making this patch, only a hinderance to new crafters or self-crafters, people who levels their classes just for themselves and their friends and not to play in the market board.

this is what i thought of honestly. they already have this implemented into desynth anyway, why not crafting?

Because there are many other things that derive from having all crafters up: Like being able to meld and/or repair your own gear.

Can you imagine having to go back to using an NPC for repairs? Ugh.

As it is right now, after getting the info on the max meld of ilvl 170 crafting pieces. It seems that Red Scribs Gear iLvL180 is < to HQ crafted and melded iLvL 170 want a proof ?

here are 2 pieces of armorer craft :

    - Crafted head
    - Red Scribs head

So Red scribs stats are : +4CP + 75 control
And crafted head stats are : +4CP + 70 control + 2*100% succed meld (potential Tier V Materia)

So obviously, real crafters will not buy red scribs to get their stuff, they will craft it, so red scribs will be used mostly to swtich job.

Yeah but to craft it they need materials that come from red scrip. That's what he's talking about.

    its horrible

i spent alot of time looking over stuff.... and i don't think we can even craft one item per week.....

example astral birch lumber needs (5) dryad sap, to get one sap you need one rowena token at the cost of 50 script per one. that is 5x50=250 scripts to make one lumber

now looking at most lumber/ingots u need 2 per craft of new gears and in some cases u need 3..... so atm it will take u two weeks to craft one item which isn;t great at all.. and still got other items to get just to make the lumber..

Nah, limiting recipes based on soulstones is just asking for a disaster. The method they are using atm is a good one, it's harder to HQ and if you want a better chance to HQ then you should specialize otherwise your precious materials may go to waste.

Basically with the difficulty of obtaining mats and how some of the new gear that is crafted is gated by the weekly scrip limit you have to be more mindful of your synthing. You don't have the luxury of trying 500 times to HQ instead you are limited by what you can obtain yourself and what you can buy so at most you may only get 2-3 attempts to HQ a piece. Because of the reduced odds of having a chance to HQ that's where specialization shines because now you have a means to increase your ability to HQ greatly by having access to unique abilities and of course the "heart of" skill to help increase odds of proccing good/excellent attempts.

Actually, if they really wanted true specialization, it should have started at level 1. This game wasn't designed for specialization. It was designed for the completionists' do everything pattern, and the crafting in particular designed to encourage doing everything with the same character. It's way too late to change their minds and decide against the basic design the entire game is built around. Adding any specialization at all was probably a bad move, but so long as they keep it extremely limited (like having a very slight advantage in HQ chance) maybe they can get away with it. It's important to ensure, however, that people can still perform effectively in all eight crafting classes.

Grind these scrips to get books.

Grind those scrips to be able to make anything.

Grind these other ones to be able to gather items.

Really SE? Your *only* solution was to go "balls to the wall" lock content, grind, grind, grind, to a supposed "casual" game...

This isn't supposed to feel like a full-time job.
