I was just about to make a thread about the 1k limit. That shit needs to go yesterday. It's so easy to circumvent it that the limitation is redundant.

I can't think of a game I've played where forum posting has been limited in this way. Maybe a time interval or a higher character limitation, but these standards FFXIV has had have just seemed a bit ridiculous to me.

Agreed and signed. 20 daily posts a day is way too low, either increase it by a lot or remove it. It makes conversation incredibility difficult whenever you run into the daily limit, then you have to wait who knows how many hours til you get one more post, and who knows how much the conversation has shifted til then.

As for the 1,000 character limit... All you have to do is edit your post to get more, so it's not that big a deal to me.

Exactly, it's easy to circumvent, so everyone is circumventing it = it's completely useless and just an annoyance.

The 1,000 character limit is useless, yes.

But the 20 posts per day? I don't know... I find it quite useful actually. If someone can't make its point in 20 posts in a day, then it means that person failed at arguing and should probably stop writing for the day.
It's a forum, not an irc channel.

The case where someone wants to participate a lot in various subjects and subforums is quite low... or that person likes to get involved in everything for no reason.

So, yeah.... even if there are downsides to it, I quite like the upsides of that daily limit.

I easily answer 10+ threads in a day, each about a different topic, so it's NOT about making a point and arguing.

And I CAN'T! I get cut off. There are ZERO upsides to a daily limit, and a bunch of downsides = it's stupid.
