I've been playing ninja for about 2 weeks and I'm not the best at all but this parse today from A1 shows all DPS so close it seems to be in the right spot. http://puu.sh/j7I2a/e8eae9c653.png

AoE, yes, they're bottom tier, I can't argue that but in non-dungeon content they can always ST something with FFXIV design.
They're pretty competitive as a melee. Their max potential is probably a smidge below DRG, but they translate the best of the melee into real fights, and most importantly, they give TA, possibly the best attack in the game due to the raid buff aspect of it. NIN was already super broken in ARR when they had top tier DPS AND TA, now that balance is scaled down a bit fortunately and NIN isn't the forced, go-to melee anymore. tl;dr - TA is why they are a little lower in single target, because they contribute a ridiculous amount of damage from it.
That parse is kind of helping my argument. All three of those classes above nin in that ST fight also completely destroy NIN in AoE.I've been playing ninja for about 2 weeks and I'm not the best at all but this parse today from A1 shows all DPS so close it seems to be in the right spot. http://puu.sh/j7I2a/e8eae9c653.png
That's the funny thing. It's pointless to give inexperienced knowledge. You don't need to be hyper defensive, was just claiming that perhaps many of the problems that OP personally sees don't become evident to someone who doesn't have access to all the tools necessary to make a fully rounded claim. It's essentially like that thread where the 28 rogue wasn't happy with how ninja played. He didn't have a full idea, and neither do you.
Besides, I was only targeting your claim on Ninja's only problem being Mudra lag. I don't know whether or not this is true, it's why I came to this thread. What I am saying is that if at 51 your only problem is Mudra lag, then you might not have encountered 52+ Ninja problems.

I'd lay money that the first several A4 Savage clears will have a NIN. Given their rather forgiving positionals and great raid utility, it's perfectly all right for DRGs to be a bit higher above them. MNKs should be above them too, since they have a lot more to worry about to keep their damage up.
How does that parse help anything? He said been playing NIN for 2 weeks. His gear might be less that theirs plus not knowing all the ends and outs of the class. 40 dps from the blm who didn't have to move much and 20 behind a monk that is near 30% crit.
Just curious, how is NIN having the only positional attack in the game that fails to apply the debuff if you don't meet the positional requirement "rather forgiving". They already fixed DRG so that his Heavy thrust applies, should his positional miss. As of right now, NIN actually has the most strict positional requirement.I'd lay money that the first several A4 Savage clears will have a NIN. Not too important, but being able to self goad would be nice. DRGs have enhanced Invigorate; MNKs have Purification.
When a NIN runs low on TP that's pretty much it
I'm really confused, i have not dealt with any of the problems mentioned in this thread. I have leveled ninja purely through mobs, leves, dungeons.
My muntras are usually as quick as i am with no lag just the slight global cooldown. I can dish out really high damage when needed and throughout the fight, unless the tank is moving like a madman. I never had any tp issues even when spamming death blossoms with my cd's.
Normally people just rush all the way to 60 overreliant on being told how to play by guides, youtube videos and such.
They added target dummies so you can practice on it really helps if you aren't doing anything. You'll see that it really helps to discover new combos and rotations.
The only area where we are really bad at is aoe as others have mentioned and i don't see a reason for us to be buffed in that department.
We are not meant to be black mages.
His 18% crit was also pretty high for ninja![]()
