As I said in one of the other 1000 stupid tank threads.

Good tanks can pull it off because they know fights inside and out, when they will take damage, how to optimize cooldowns etc to survive rather comfortably (in current content) with a lot less hp.

Bad tanks don't know how to manage their defenses in a specific encounter and need more hp to compensate .

The only problem is everyone thinks they are good tanks.

wearing str gear and still tanking effectively is something only good tanks can do. Therefore everyone does it because "I'm awesome too!" And by telling them to wear vit you say to them "no you aren't good enough to pull off str" and people can't handle the idea that they aren't the best at everything like mommy and their trophy case full of participation ribbons Saya they are.

I still blame society for creating an entire generation of entitled brats that can't comprehend that failure is a natural part of life.

Bottom line is there is nothing lost by a skilled player goin str. It happens successfully every single day. It works get over it. On the other hand there is an army of less skilled tanks that try and fail to pull it off. That's bad. Stop it. It's not always the healers fault you die. People just can't accept that there are people who do stuff they cant.

This problem would go away if BOTH extremes in this fight would just get over themselves. Not every str tank is good enough. Also not every tank actually needs full vit so quit whining on both sides. This is ridiculous.

Wooow, what a great segue this thread is for your social apathy towards society. That's great that you hate the world and all, but let's not read in between the lines of a blank page, okay? On another note, I agree with everything else you said.

I can NOT stress this enough.

Healing is a fun thing for some of us. But not when the Tanks are packing all STR accessories and ignoring the fundamentals of actually holding hate and not dying a horrible death cause they ate several Critical Hits without the extra health to sustain them long enough for a Heal to get off.

Now, I'm going to say this, I don't pay your Subscription, I'm not going to tell you how to play your Character. However, any amount of consideration toward the people you are playing with will go a long way in making everyone's lives easier.

Remember, Healers have a pain in the ass job sometimes already, don't make it more difficult...

Well thats why I rather handle the tanking myself, I'm in full control and I dont have anything to complain about

Couldn't you have just linked them or do you have this speech typed out ready to go? I guess after 1000 times it would only make sense to have this ready to go at a moments notice.

If people could simply accept the idea that they aren't the best we wouldn't be having 800 threads on this. The less experienced/bad tanks would recognize their own weakness and put on more vit instead of blaming healers. Similarly healers would know if it was really the tanks fault or theirs by accepting they aren't the best healers, not that str tanking is "wrong", but that they can't handle healing without an extra 40% buffer time to heal.

If people looked past their own over developed egos we wouldn't have 3 giant threads like these pop up everyday because they wouldn't be looking for validation that they are in fact 'right' and any failings are the 'other' people. Instead, just adapt themselves. But they wont, so here we are. Yeah, that's a rather broad societal issue. It's wound up in the entittlement QQ. They snowflake QQ. They "I'm not doing X (tanking in this case) wrong, everyone else is just bad" QQ. The "I'm awesome but continue to fail at (insert content) because Elitist won't make learning parties QQ. Clear seller run QQ. And pretty much every common whiny thread on this board.

People can't take responsability for their own failure and blame everyone but themselves. Yeah. It's a societal problem. The entire general discussion board is just giant window to make it plainly clear. People aren't looking for information or solutions. Just validation to reinforce their view.

At least a discussion about societal ills is more interesting than another str/vit tank thread.

My guess is that they, like you are free to post or start any thread you wish to. Maybe the OP wanted to clarify something and instead of burying deep in 30 plus page thread where hardly anyone will see it, wanted their point more visible. Thing was the OP was healer talking about STR tanks and having to keep up the healing vs a VIT tank where they can have a buffer and maybe them in turn can offer up some DPS themselves. Not everyone is an amazing hero type gamer as many here have pointed out their greatness, but just want to play have fun with as little stress as possible.
