I hope it means new recipes. The old potions are NOT cutting it.

Thats just a plain lie, or youre getting to the completely wrong crafters.
There is always at least 1 Crafter on PF whos offering his services on Moogle and the highest amount of money i saw them charging was 50k for NQ and 100k for HQ. I saw enough ppl who just charged like 20-30k for crafting.
Well yes with Heavensward out you are right. Before that...nope. Didn't find a single one. Btw right after HW hit i got a Crafter doing it for free! After asking why he said "Well i get exp for that."I can't shake of this Feeling off....ya know "it helps me so its okay...it helps me not so lets charge him on a sum i like".
Whatever you say the entire Crafting System with Supply and everything is obiviously Broken and could reaaaally use some Love.
No only the Players who OVERcharge. And because it's a economy based on the wellfare of crafters you can't do nothing against it.What you are really saying here is that you detest people that want to be compensated for the countless hours of work they put in to be able to make said item in the first place. Also I personally don't spike prices, I do price things at a reasonable going rate however. I did raise the price of some glamour prisms one time because people were for some reason buying them faster than I could even make them. Even then it wasn't anything outrageous.
I fail to see why people never take into account the time and effort that crafters/gatherers spend to be able to craft items for people. It's not all about material cost (which we don't always control, despite popular belief)
You think Players will start charging low Prices because no Reason? Dream on. You have to make serious Changes so that they lower the Price. So yeah basically you have to force em or they would hurt themself. Thats Capitalism.
@DejectedBunny:
So you want XIV to be a Second Job? Uhm don't take it personally but last Time i checked XIV was a Game meant to be enjoyed and not a "second Workplace".
Crafting is a big Cornerstone of every Game and no matter how much you argue its not on par with other MMO's. Its outdated overcomplicated Stuff based on RNG and heavily punishs the ones who don't invest a huge amount of Gil. It's not...suitable for the mass. Yeah...not suitable for the mass at all.

I've been playing this game (and crafting / gathering) since closed beta, so I'm very familiar with the changes that have been made over time. There's always going to be a work to reward ratio for optional activities in this game. Whether or not that ratio is fair is entirely subjective and beholden in the eyes of each player. Bottom line, if you don't feel it's worth it, then don't do it. Nothing required to do content in this game needs to be crafted. Also, SE has nothing to do with MB prices. This is a player-driven economy. SE doesn't care if things are being sold for 1 gil or a million gil. The players are left to set the prices based upon perceived value and what the consumers are willing to pay.Oh wait indeed. Read the opening post again. This game used to be like that when ARR was released. Since then SE has been adding more and more punishing mechanics to hurt players that want to be self-sufficient and force the MB down their throats.
If SE is so obsessed with keeping MB prices up I want them to give players like me a parallel system where we can gather and craft untradable versions of the same items while bypassing all the grindy mechanics that are solely in place to keep MB prices up and to push players out of crafting and gathering.
And this is why many Players hate you (not you personally i mean crafters) and react with negative Behaviour against CraftersAnd why PvE Players try to actively kill off Mobs before you and take away your Money for Materials.
Because you exploit the Position given to you to the most. And this is why i say this System has to Die. It's a Spiral if Self-Entitlment on both Sides.
Oh and btw. nobody said you should shit it out for free. Everything i read here in the Forum are calls to ease up the Crafting System and make the Price reasonable. But there are Players (not pointing in any direction) who don't want that. And these are the ones I hate.

Fixed that for you, you keep asking people to invest time and effort for basically no reward. I'm really at a loss as your hatred for crafters.
You didn't "earn" it Wobi. You just used the Time while it was easy. Now it's way harder and punishing. And you are just blatantly ignoring that. But please go on on your naive Trip of "i eaaaaaaaaaaarned iiiiiiit" Man....poor girl/dude.

I do not understand the OPs complaint. SE isn't the one making market board prices high its the players. Because everyone is trying to level their crafts while fewer people want to go out and gather or farm for monster drops. Demand outpaces supply and therefor high prices.
You don't want to pay high prices for base components then go out and gather or farm mobs yourself. Once the rush to level crafts to 60 is over the prices will ofcorse fall to much lower levels.
If you want crafted stuff to be cheap, flood the market board with cheap materials. There's your solution, so get to farming.
