I ran into a PLD wearing fully penta-melded 150HQ RHS in A4N today and he was doing 430dps as MT. A full VIT PLD does about 330dps as MT. Basically a 100dps increase for a PLD. Compared to DPS who should be doing 800+ with the top-notch ones doing 1k+, it comes to about an increase of 2~3% of total raid dps.

It's not something worth throwing away your VIT for. If you wanna do it, go full penta-meld.

You're speaking about the weakest of the 3 tanks while in tank stance. That's not a good example. Do this with a DRK or a WAR and you'll see a much bigger difference. Plus that penta melded PLD example you took was pretty low. I just did a little test on dummy myself but I'm not gonna say anything about this here because SE with parsers can sometimes go crazy.

It's totally worth throwing away your VIT for. I can reverse the thing : It's not worth throwing 100+ DPS for a useless amount of VIT, which will not help you to get the clear at all.

whit 17k of vit you can take the balls fast and 0 issues in A4, i get 5/6 balls very fast thnaks to mi vit and shadowskin/wall the i have a good dps whit grit around 400-500 so the adds in quarentine fall fast, so is not useless too.

Dummies are dummies and that's just that. It's better to use real data. Phase changes, taking care of mechanics, throwing out the odd Stoneskin and Clemency etc will all lower your dps.

PLD conclusions apply to PLD. WAR conclusions apply to WAR. WAR conclusions do not automatically apply to PLD. So it is necessary to consider all three tank jobs individually and separately.

So what kind of PLD dps are you actually seeing in A4N?

Our WAR tank consistently pulls around 900 dps and our DRK does similar, and the loss of vitality doesn't even matter because right now there is no fight in HW that will put a tank in serious danger unless their healer is off drooling on their keyboard.

Savage Alex will most likely change that this week, but below that there really isn't any reason to be stacking full VIT.

    This.

A4 is currently the only fight you "kinda" need vit on, and thats only if you're Main tanking. no other fights have HP requirements atm.
If the tank is dying in STR accs, he was probably gonna die anyways even if he had VIT accs.
