    Not able to play in Heavensward for some reason.

    So I own both ARR and HW on steam but as of yesterday 07/17/15 I haven't been able to go to Heavensward areas because it says I don't own it which I found weird since I obviously own it then I logged on to Mog Station and for some reason It said I don't own a PC version of it. So just wondering but is this happening to anyone else? and do you guys think this is a Steam problem or SE problem?

    Are they both either Steam or PC? They have to be one or the other, can't be both. I had a steam ARR and purchased HW for PC, and it doesn't work together.

    If both were purchased on Steam, check on Steam for a game key that you can register for HW on mogstation maybe?

    I had the same problem as you just about with one difference. I bought A realm Reborn physical copy from amazon at launch, lost my disc. I bought a realm reborn on steam later and played awhile. Then I bought HW on steam and couldn't access it either. A SE agent in customer support told me that if your first version was non steam it will always be considered a windows version. The only fix would be to redownload the client at ffxivplayersdownload for ARR. Then buy a non steam HW version. Do not log onto your steam version game up to two hours(not even character creation) or steam will not refund your money. I lost 40 dollars on steam...

    What sucked is they counted me as playing HW even though I didn't access one piece of HW content. I was just trying to figure out how to fix access to HW in the base game. I lost all respect for steam.

    So they could not switch your HW steam key to non steam HW key?
    Cause i am currently in the exact same position, filled in the whole transfer key of service account form in but it said it can take 2 weeks.
    I just want to know if i should just cave in and buy yet another HW copy or if there is still some hope.
    Also, i would put this blame with SE for having 2 different versions that are not compatible.

    From what the SE agent told me. The only fix to being a windows version and be able to access HW retaining all my old character information was to re-download no steam arr client then purchase a non steam version of HW. Unless I misunderstood him. I would wait those 2 weeks before you cave in.

    Steam is treated as a separate platform so you have to purchase the non-steam windows version. You have to have the base game and HW for each platform.

    That's Steam for you folks, I really don't know why people want steam anyways.

    Yeah, if it is ONLY available on steam, then purchase through steam, otherwise purchase direct from the developer for PC download. You will have so many less issues that way. This is what happens when you go through a 3rd party for licensing and platform, you will only have headaches in the end.

    This is not a steam issue, this is a SE issue.
    There are multiple different games that either warn you stuff is not compatible. (does not happen with FFXIV at all) or are compatible.
    There should have been a massive warning on both mog station and steam that the 2 versions are not compatible even tough SE sites itself saids and i quote "Both versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV are identical."
    Also, i would have no problem if they had a service account transfer service yet they don't.

    No this is a Steam issue. Why would SE want you to buy it twice. My guess is that Valve get a cut of the sub fee if you play it through Steam. Valve have no reason to encourage you to switch 'platform'. It's just like Microsoft and Sony getting a cut of console games when you buy them.
