Kraken Club: Club weapon with 1-8 attacks per attack round (incredible for TP gain) but with low base damage.

Ridill: Sword with 1-3 attacks per attack round with average base damage, used to be great weapon for Warriors with the proper merits.

Relics: Ultimate weapons, surpassing all others. These were meant for roughly only 5% of the game's population. Many people have spent upwards of 2 years to complete a single one.

    Kraken Club wasn't 1-8, it was 2-8.
    Ridill also wasn't 1-3, it was 2-3.
And not all Relics surpassed other weapons, lets take Claustrum for instance, terrible weapon.

Each with their own overpowered weaponskill or trait.

    Tough as nails to get.

I owned just about every multi-hit weapon in XI, and yes, every single one can hit only once.

The relic comment was a generalization.

Let me rephrase: It grants the bonus chance of hitting 2-8 or 2-3. All weapons hit once herp derp <___>

The traits were mostly awesome, but as for the WS's themselves, most only showed their true power on HNM type mobs.

I rarely ever used Mercy Stroke outside of LS events.

Because OP mentioned Ridill and Kraken, and those were just obnoxious to camp. I'm looking forward to instances like Dynamis and Limbus (Provided they actually instance them, and not just make one zone for each that locks everyone else out if a group is already in, anyone else have bitter memories of trying to trade the hourglass to the ??? in Xarcabard before other shells did?). Elite items are great, and I'm all for them, SE just has a history of crappy implementations for a lot of things, and I don't want those implementations to be repeated here.

I'm 100% fine with them coming from instances. I loved the way SE handled Relic weapons. You could buy currency from anyone, or sponsor Dynamis runs and obtain them that way. And all the boss fights were in Dynamis.

As long as SE keeps them incredibly rare, I could care less how they're obtained.

50% of the reason I stuck through the first 9 months of this game...
was that in hopes... Someday... I would be one of the small percentage of players...
And why would you think SE would award stubbornness? Why would they award those who stay on board *anyway*, no matter how bad the game is? Why would they allow such people to have a significant advantage, discouraging new (less... "dedicated") players from joining? Yoshida is smarter than his precedessors. Under him, "hardcores" always will get an extra pebble, don't worry. But never a basket full of diamonds.
