Everyone has the right to watch the cutscenes, I personally don't and skipped a vast majority but if I go as a healer/tank I will wait for the person who wants to watch em, would love to see the tank rush into a boss room without the healer. New people are joining the game, growing our community, the last thing we want to do is make them feel bad for trying to enjoy the game.

Part of being new is watching cutscenes. So yes it's part of the reward.
Reporting anything in this game is unnecessarily difficult and really does nothing unless it becomes an issue on a JP server.

No offense, but they should have mentioned that. I bought it expecting to be able to just go through all of it after a break I had taken. They basically kidnap your money until you finish shit you dont want to do.

or, how about you don't buy the expansion until you finish the ARR story and its updates first? No one is forcing you to buy the expansion right away. They even stated that you need to finish the story from 2.5 before you can access the new areas.

They have only said this on the forums and in the Dev blogs. Some one buying the game at a store, or online will have no idea. That also includes SE'S own store and HW website.

They need to move the warning out of the early access section on the main page. People who purchase the game now will skip right past that part. I can't blame for doing it either.

There is a simple solution to this.
Leave most of the nonsense and monotonous quests that take up so much time and effort for absolutely no reason in the game. Leave personal challenges in the game. Leave all that as a gating mechanism.

However remove group content like the King Mog stuff because then, you are stuck on depending on 9 other individuals who might also be new, and that can be a very annoying factor. I went through it with the furry penis colored King Moogle fight. I did finish it but it was very discouraging and took quite a few tries.

You have to understand lot of people are coming back/new to the game, they might not have a good supportive FC and relationships with the people in them.

I've seen a tank rush a boss as a healer while a friend of mine was watching a cut scene. I didn't run in both tank and dps who did died. They bitched me out about it o said I was waiting on my friend... lol

It's a strange business decision to gate content certain content in an expansion. Having to wait till you're 50 with 1 class, and completed all up to 2.55 before you can unlock the new classes isn't the best design from a business decision. There may be people who don't like the games current classes, but absolutely loves the idea of the DRK/AST/MCH. Unfortunately they have to play a class they may have zero issue in playing just to do that. It's bizarre, but no matter how many ways you look at it, the fanboys will never agree on this.

The other thing is the story. I personally don't care that 2.1-2.55 were required before getting into Ishgard. But I won't sit here and pretend that it doesn't suck for people who don't care about the story. No. Stop it. Don't you dare say "This is a story based game! If you don't like the story just GTFO because this isn't the game for you!", because I will scream if you say something so silly. This is an MMORPG. There are MULTIPLE playstyles. The story is not the only way to play this game, so stop pretending that it is. There is a reason you have the option to skip cutscenes, and its not JUST because you may level an alt. I could list all the different ways to play this game, along with the different playstyles, but I shouldn't have to. You all know there are people who play this and don't give an ounce of care for the story. There's nothing wrong with that, either. Stop pretending its a horrible travesty that there are people who don't like your precious MSQ.

On the flip side, I enjoyed going through 2.1-2.55. I enjoyed that the old content is still relevant. It was refreshing to see all the content I missed out on over the years STILL be worth my time. That's impressive, and I am genuinely thankful for that. But I won't pretend that there are others who are upset about this, and I won't discount their reasonings. It's fairly common in MMORPGs that an expansion is a reset button, allowing new people to join the game and not feel left behind.

Square, seriously, update your forums to something in the past decade, 1000 post character limit is embarrassing for having gone on this long.
