As a crafter/gather who is just now getting around to doing the 3.0 stuff this is good to know.
If you actually want to make MONEY doing this, though, as the topic title implies, better jump on that bandwagon quick. Crystals were pricy due to low supply and high demand. If there's now an easy source of supply and no change in demand, those prices are gonna drop fast. Sell while you can!
A) good there to OP any ways.
B) No it will not get patched bc it's not a bug it was put there to give players a eagd over RMTs and to make the market on RMTs farming lower and players one higher.
I wish there was a way for other players to make money. -.-
Im coming out with a battlecraft video today.![]()
If you ever DO see an NPC selling an item which you can then sell to another NPC for more than you bought it for, tread carefully. This is undoubtedly a BUG, and if you use it to make a lot of money, you stand a good chance of having your account banned. This actually happened once in FFXI; an item was accidentally introduced to the game with an NPC sale price higher than the price the NPC was selling it for. People figured this out before SE noticed and bought and sold a ton of that item. Once SE corrected the problem, they then went ahead and banned a number of players for exploiting it.
But yes, buying stuff from an NPC and selling it on the Marketboards for more than you bought it from the NPC is a common way to make money. There are a lot of people who don't do the research to figure out where items can be bought cheaply from NPC, and just blindly buy off the Marketboards for whatever price it's sold for there - and even in the case of folks who DO do the research, they may buy from the Marketboards simply for the convenience of it. It saves them a trip to the NPC. Sometimes, too, items are gated; there's a number of Dyes, for instance, which can only be purchased after advancing sufficiently in Beast Tribe quests. Folks who want the color, but don't want to bother with the quests, are going to turn to the Marketboards.
Buying from NPC and selling on the Marketboards is a great way to make money, if you take the time to figure out what sells well and what does not!
I find selling npc mats is a slow gil making idea and not recommended
