Is this normal for this games community?

Sadly, yes :/ People ragequit at the simplest things, even tiny mistakes anyone can make and they demand you know the content within an hour of it releasing, to which they ragequit if you wipe. Not everyone, but it's a good majority, which cross server instancing for everything is to blame. It allows people to be whiny ragequitters / jerks and get away with it since they can just queue up again with randoms.

If your friends won't help just because they got theirs done already, you may want to reconsider who you call "friend".
