And it's a more minor one, since going from male to female, they literally have to add parts to the model that didn't exist before (any open shirt suddenly needs a chest cover). Going from female to male, those outfits are already designed to have variable curve since they can have to cover the entire chest-slider range. They follow the model; thus, all that would need to be done is rigging the outfit to a different model... exactly the same work that they have to do for giving "male" gear to female models.

The designer argument that it's more work the other way is entirely based on a fear of letting men wear "womens" clothing, so they'd be "forced" to redesign it into something less feminine. They're not even considering just directly converting the same outfit.
