Relic weapon.

I'm gonna start leveling my sch and whm. Would it be advisable to get the relic weapon done and just burn through it or just say screw it? I do not mind the grind but if I can save some time and my party some hardship with my heals Im willing to do it. ;D

The relic weapon (after going through hell and 10 mil gill in materia) finishes at lvl 135. This was great before heavensward and even beats the raid weapon at the time. Now that the expansion is out, it carried me nearly to 60. On a lvl 135 weapon. Its very powerful, however no longer is relevant, at this moment. Until we see what happens with the relic weapon, the current ones are not worth the trouble.

You could do it for the achievement though, just get the first stage i think?

At this point, I would only do the ARR relic questline all the way through if you want the title (Z) or the weapon for glamour. You can generally replace the weapons around level 55 or 56 (though weapons at that level are not yet significantly better), and if you really want a solid weapon that will last you until that point, you're better off getting some people together to get an Encrypted Tomestone and a Carbontwine (or just do the weekly quest for two weeks for that) or putting together a group to farm T13 for a bit.

Check your server prices for materia first if you want usable stats on it. It costs around less then 500k to make a fresh relic weapon on my server now as materia prices have dropped more than 90% of what they used to be.

It's a nice glamour to have for the future though. In addition, there has been some talk of getting a head start in the next relic line if you complete the full Zodiac Zeta upgrade for your specific weapon/class. :0 I wouldn't recommend getting the weapon at the moment if you're using it for actual use since the new level cap is 60, and that staff will only really last you until level 55.

I really hope I get some kind of reward on the new relic though, I worked so hard. Please, let me transfer over the melds or something! Or no grinding for first phase of new relic? Even that small of a reward I would be happy with.

I did like the first basic steps where you get the basic weapon and then use 3 of something to make it glow. It's good for glamour.

A relic costs no where near 10 mil gil at this point. The only barrier to it is now time (significantly less than previously). I've been working on mine casually for Sch because it's pretty and I'll use it as a glamour and I should have plenty of time to do it by the time 3.1 and the new one comes for whatever tiny bonus it gives.

Would it be worth getting a relic weapon for your main class for the "advantage" on the 3.1 relic???
