It seems pretty pointless in the context of the cutscene we're treated. Why do you need a light party to even press a button?

The point of it, is that it is a group project(Whether a good one or not), created for what was intended to be a thing for... you know... groups.
Going by their logic then there is also no point in keeping the new primals locked behind premade groups. Nor is there a reason to lock any dungeon or raid behind a premade group. Should all just be DF'able right off the bat.
Why cant I solo Dragonskin maps too? Those need a nerf.
Hell lets just make this a single player game. That's the only way people will be happy at this point.
You don't. I completely agree. If they wanted to slow down the smaller/solo FCs, they should have just made it limited material turn in each day. The way they did it is just odd.

Not what I was saying at all. I have no problem with group content. As implemented, this was not group content. Unless you think it's great fun to sit there while other people do things is "group content". I know that doing maps, I'm actually involved with fighting the mob, not just standing around.

Why couldn't they just make it so that if you did it ina group it required less items or something, so people with FC's that have problem getting 4 people online (and no no no im not inviting a random person inside my house) would have some extra things to craft.
Because then the bigger fcs would get the advantage (i dont really see the point of it though, because this was supposed to be something fun, but they gated it like everything else thats fun in the game behind something stupid) and smaller FC's would still have a chance to do it too.
I think smaller FC's are closer to eachother. My fc has like max 4 online (very rarely) but -I usuall do content with them when I have the chance. I've been in bigger FC's and they been very quiet, everyone minding their own bussiness.
So I don't really understand why smaller, closer fc's aren't allowed to have fun because of some stupid rule?

This is the very first introduction to group crafting. I also hope they add more reasons for all members to actively participate and I am pretty sure they will. Its like every other new content they add in, they do it in stages. I just think its a little early to break out the torches over it. Just like people complaining about the difficulty of Alex Savage mode when its not even out yet...
I don't think we're at torches or pitchforks phase for this and I doubt we'll reach it. If something is less-than-ideal, we should say so though. This is the very first introduction to group crafting. Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect
If some people can't even handle light crafting group content I can't imagine them adding anything more complex that speak volumes in of itself for this multiplayer game be thankful it isn't a alliance group requirement.
Like others have said, I don't get why I need a light or full party to advance. I just wanna build a fence. >_> My FC is smaller and we never have all of our crafters on at the same time or able to just sit for a moment.
To even help alleviate how burdensome it is to get the four of us together, we've had to gather EVERYTHING beforehand and then sit and wait around for people to get ...unbusy. Basically, whenever I have a moment to do it, no one else does and whenever someone's not busy, I have to drop everything I'm doing for the dumb project.
It's a pain. And it's unnecessary. I was hoping for some adjustment when I saw the live letter, but nope, I saw this.
....Yea, lemme do FC crafting with people not of my FC. Yeah, okay. May lead to new members... Wat? >_> Wat???if you don’t have enough people, please use the party finder and look for players that are willing to help. That may lead to new members joining the FC. We may remove this restriction in future, however, we do not have plans for this any time soon.
No. Just no. Hey! Thanks for showing up to advance this project, yeah, we're a super great FC. Yeah, we couldn't get four of us together to help with this... Yeah, I promise we're super helpful though...and friendly...and...yeah... >_>
No.
To me it's the whole...
1. At least 4 people in the FC need to be online (people outside the FC can be used if the guest setting is turned on)
2. On a craft job
3. in a party
4. In the workshop
I can't speak for all FCs but for mine it's like trying to wrangle a herd of cats (Seriously! Them Miqo'tes are stubborn!) Why not make it so say...just 4 people in the FC need to be online or something to that effect?
