If it allows square to make money and force lightning down people's throats in order to buy the game, then I don't see why not?

It's not so much about hating new people but these minions, weapons and such are kinda like a status symbol saying "I've been here since X"
A minion, maybe.
A hairstyle or clothing set though should never, ever, ever be a status symbol of that kind.
It's something a lot of people desire and we shouldn't be punished because we didn't play before, that kind of attitude is what keeps many players from joining older MMOs and loses them money.

Yus for Shantotto cause I like the character and loved her in FFXI plot as well. No comment for Lightning, I hope the whole FFXIII's team will never make another game in the future: like I've said many times in the past I am waiting for a hypothetical FF16 by Ito (FF9, FF12).

Over vanity items and weapons, that is what stops new people? Yet then you risk getting veterans mad over allowing people to obtain stuff they were not here for. It kinda works both ways. Personally I don't care if she comes back and lets new people earn the weapons and hair, but I can't speak for everyone either.A minion, maybe.

I am a veteran of many games, and have obtained many items, titles and so on that were limited time, and then handed out again later on through various means.Over vanity items and weapons, that is what stops new people? I have never once gotten "mad" over my shinies being made available to newer players. So I suggest that any "veteran" who does do the following: Grow up.
As for vanity items stopping new people, the general attitude that newer players don't deserve eventual parity no matter how much they contribute puts them off.
This is part of that. Especially given the awfully limited options some races have for good hairstyles.

He wasn't being hostile. Also, no one said anything about new players not deserving things. Do you think it would be fair to 2.x players who participated in the events that 1.0 should have exclusives while the rest of us don't? Or would it be fair to take all 1.0 exclusives from legacy players and throw them up on the cash shop, would that be too much of a slap in the face for those players?
Why not just let old exclusives remain exclusive and have new exclusive events for newer players? I think it's probably a more complex issue than just "release all the things because I missed them!" Either option would have to be weighed out by SE, and either way people are going to be discontent.
Given that they did it again for the 1yr event, and that spanned over a number of days, I'd say there's a pretty good chance of seeing it temporarily come back in August or so.
