sigh. i played daoc for a long time myself. was my first mmo. you are basicly argueing a wall here mate.
i tryed that myself for years. but the matter of fact is WOW did a bad thing to mmos back then. blizzard made nearly all new age mmo players think that each addon NEEDS to reset everything and raise max level every time.
hence why you see so many players wanting it. since many of em think its NORMAL. while in fact its the lazyiest method of progression any dev team could come up with since its nothing more than a reset that creates the ILLUSION of progression. it also leads to abillity bloat over time.
i am not a big fan of leveling myself i CAN deal with it if it doesnt happen too often and to fast (looking at you LOTRO) since if it happens every 12 months there is basicly no point on getting endgame gear which will be obsolte within a day after the next cap raise.
can aswell quit and rejoin game later. no point staying on such a game over the long run after you reached current max.
the matter of fact is most modern players have NEVER experiencd how GOOD an mmo without a cap raise CAN be. daoc proved this many times. even tough its too old now it was FUN for over 5 years for me and the max level was ALWAYS 50 even after 6? (forgot how many) expansions which all adding tons of content without making the old content obsolete like most modern mmos do it. and this is mainly why many new players of the past 5 years dont get why level cap raises are boring progression wise.
and since it works and SELLS the industry wont stop doing it. the only question is when will the next lvl cap 70 arrive. if its already next year then i am likely to leave this game since thats just to fast i say.
yes some people ENJOY the level procress. others dont. the sad fact is that nearly 90% of mmos these days force you to the cap raise. choices are very few sadly.
