Please for future Expansions: No level Cap increasement anymore

As the title already says what i would wish personally for future expansions is that there is no level cap increasement which would only lead to a reset of boring level phases that no one really enjoys nowdays.

Nowdays everyone enjoys much more the experience of nice dungeons, complex boss battles and storyline... not grinding through trivial quests that no one really enjoys or is paying attention to. I understand that this is a much easier way to create content for players that increases the playtime in a total. But besides that it is nothing more than a timesink that no one really enjoys.

if you enjoy leveling there most likely will be new jobs every expansions which you have to lv from lv 1 or lv 30 on to lv 60.. which is quiet enough if you ask me.

I come from a MMorpg like Dark Age of Camelot which never increased its level cap in 10 years... it implemented content like champion levels where you had to defeat several boss encounters.. artifact weapons which could be farmed in complex open world encounters etc.

And games like Guild Wars 2 do it also without lv cap increasement. So why ever resetting the level spiral? I would welcome other, more creative content than that personally.

And at the moment i have the feeling that many people gave up leveling there classes from lv 50 to 60 after a few days and already quit before they reached the new endgame content.

Leveling up when a new EXPAC comes out is my favorite part

Thanks for telling us what we all enjoy. We'd have never figured that out without your sage wisdom and advice. Except, I do enjoy it.

I genuinely enjoy seeing my characters grow, learning new skills on existing jobs and finding new life breathed into my classes. I love my sidequests, which I fully read through and enjoy, because they enrich the lore of the game in many cases. So, don't assume that everyone shares your opinion because we really don't.

Guild Wars 2 'endgame' is a fashion parade. You go forth, dress up in fancy outfits all the while never really improving your stats in any form. The entire endgame revolves around grinding loot and breaking it down into components for use in your next fashion piece. There's a short bit of story which you can finish in a day, and levels are inconsequential now anyway because you can use tomes to cap any job to 80 in a matter of days. That endgame wouldn't work here.

I do think the linear progression needs some work, and a little sideways deviation wouldn't hurt (such as unique equipment stats), but that's a different argument to level cap rises, which for the most part I'm very happy with.

I agree, plenty of ways to add new skills and gear to game, without making everything before it obsolete and basically hitting reset on the entire game.

As i said you can level the new job classes.. isnt that really enough?

you have 30 levels to level for:
    - machinist
    - dark knight
    - astrologue

How would you define the funniest part of Final Fantasy 14?

These trivial quests and boring zerg FATE's (in GW2 they are slightly better) definatley not..

for me the funniest part in FF14 is:

    - Boss Primal Fights
    - Raids, Dungeons
    - Storyline

and not "help me to find my comb, a goblin stole it" "kill 6 goblin thiefs" quests..
not to talk about FATE zergs where you can go afk while all smash onto one trash boss.

for me this is very oldschool and not what a game (in general) should stand for nowdays.

and in reviews thats what magazines critizise about FF14.. if you would pay attention to.

leveling in ARR was meant to be an "extended tutorial" to help you get accustomed to the gameplay and how your class/job works. In HW it just felt like filler for the story. There will always be some form of "leveling" in any game. Though I wish they would consider a "skill tree" approach to leveling this is a Final Fantasy game and I don't think they will stop until they reach that fabled lvl 99/100.

I really, really enjoyed leveling. I'm excited for the next level cap raise and whatever comes with it. One day I hope the level cap is 99 or 100. I think it'll feel like an accomplishment then.

get the first 60 is not that hard, you do have tons of quest and you can even do dungeon for level up (not very efficient i admit but well)

the trouble is not it's too hard to level up or it reset all, it's the fact that people don't like to be push away of them habit. as the time have pass in the 2.x series, most of them did become unbeatable by most of the monster around, facerolling all the content quite easily.

but there, even a chocobo can kick them ass if they are not cautious. that what people hate, the feeling to not be a god anymore.

me i'm quite pleased with this increase of cap, it force people to exit the tunnel vision... even if i feel the exp earn by fate/dungeon in HW when you level another jobs is too low. some part of the game are unbalanced (some craft have some huge trouble, the trouble of the leatherwork and the really low drop rate of the skin) but that not that bad, people need to accept that they aren't god anymore and it's more than welcome.

lol... accomplished? accomplisment for killing 1000.000 trash mobs.. right that is an accomplishment.. i feel sorry for you if you havent played or enjoyed a MMorpg that doesnt use the cheap way of senseless exp treadmill reset O.O

its not more like a filler.

tons of filler quests that are boring as hell: and obviously there for filler purposes. seriously who isnt skipping the standard quest textboxes?

its just running from exclamation mark to the next marker on the map to kill 2 trash mob goblins.. which i already had hundreds of times ago with different mob types. wohoo.. "how fun"..

    THIS should be FUN??

No need to feel sorry for me. I've played many types of MMOs and console games. I enjoyed this system and different systems. Basic fact of life: everyone has their own idea of whats "fun".
