If the ratio of elitist to good people in the community are the same as in this thread so far (9:1) I would say this community is doing just fine.

Kinda my point; you've left "elitist" so ambiguous that anyone can just sort of superimpose whatever behavior they don't like on it and agree. May as well just say "bad people are bad and good people are good." Your comparison was "elitist to good people", it's very near literally my hyperbolic analogy -.-

i like to help new players too, on dgn
even on harder content (i still have my limit XD, i can't bear no progress after some advice and some try, you can't help when there is not any progress, if i don't give up someone else will do.
when it's going to nothing, there no miracle) when a group is not working well, even a single progress is not happening.
but when i begin the game i remember i got some annoying jerks experience cause i was a noob. a few ones, i think it's still the same now. So new players get this experience too.
Like i said don't let this affect you just do it with a other group, everyone is not a jerk.
it's a mmorpg you will encouter every kind of players, good and nice players who help others and sometimes some annoying selfish players.

Had the best experience in Chrysalis yesterday through DR Trials:
Tank doesn't eat meteors, only attacks the tear = wipe!
Tank leaves the party.

And on topic: I do DR for the tomestones, sure. But I also know there is a chance that there will be new players in there, and therefore also prepared for some wipes, slow runs or having to explain fights or give pointers. On the other side: I am always happy when everyone knows the dungeons and play at their best, making the run flawless.
So instead of being disappointed when there are new people around, I'm happy when the run is smooth. It's all about the point of view or the expectations you have when entering.

Alas: if the party wipes time after time on the same mechanics, or if people can't take a word of advice or understand explanations, I too get fed up after a while :/

They honestly have the audacity to bitch about how other people play when they suck worse than a naked lvl 1 thaumaturge with no MP? Honestly the worst players I've ever encountered were all elitists.

News flash, The Gear you got from having your corpse dragged to the finish line by your payed off band of mercs that could have won with out you doesn't give you any authority on determining who's doing their jobs correctly. If you were THAT good, a few noobs in the party wouldn't stop you from clearing it now would it, considering what the all mighty iLvl 190 Elite God Hood status you obtained and all.

But if I at minimum item level, who has seen a video at most, and never run the fight before, out live you because you wiped to stupid shit, Then YOU my dear elitists are the scrubs holding the team back and need to go back to what ever single player game you crawled out of.

That's pretty much exactly what venting is. Not like it comes with a solution, nor does it even specify a problem. "Some people are bad and that's bad." Okay.

This thread is just filling up with anecdotes about times people were rude to them in game. That's all that's really happening.

Not necessarily a bad thing - vent threads have a time and place. Just pointing out that that's all that it is.

The term elitist is pretty well defined. You really don't have a point other than you don't know what an elitist is.

On my server yesterday a healer left a pf for floor 3 of Alex because someone was new. Because someone was new to ONE day old content. Some people are utterly ridiculous.
