So is this going to pop up every time we get a new raid?

I actually think Alex NM is tuned just right. You can't just go in and mash your face on the keyboard like crystal tower and walk off with loot. It's forgiving, and doesn't require you to play your class to a really high level, but you need to learn a few mechanics and play reasonably - and that's what you will get in duty finder. A mix of good and bad players that can communicate enough to clear it.
If you get a new guy in alex, you can explain the whole fight to them in a couple of lines of text. Imagine getting a new guy in something like T8 (pre nerf) and having to explain all the tower orders, ballistics, setting priorities etc..its just not possible to do in DF.
The game needed a raid like alex NM, or it will just forever be "t10 farm no noob no bonus" after week 1, where the statics all clear it and everyone else just gets left behind and gives up trying with fail pug groups.

But it's always a team effort. You can even only find something easy if you and your team are good at what you're doing. When you are in my position, you can't prove you're good because you joined too late - you can't clear t9 and above because everyone who has doesn't want to take a rookie. Do you know how bad it sucks that no static will take me because I'm both a Dark Knight and have never cleared t9? And I can't clear it because nobody wants to do older content with someone who hasn't!
So I can find things difficult, even though I can also probably beat them - it doesn't make me a bad player. There are so many variables, it's close-minded to think people don't do things just because they don't want to or that they aren't capable of it.
Sometimes circumstances just aren't favourable.

You should probably wait for savage to cone out before forming opinions about savage. Common sense and whatnot.
Thank you. I don't know why that is so hard to understand. Alex normal mode is easy, it was meant to be easy, yes, we all know that. The problem lies in the fact that this game lacks mid-tier content, like OP is stating. Right now, we're getting an extremely accessible raid due to complaints made by people who already had like 90-95% of this game's content already catered to them, and in 2 weeks we're going to get a Savage mode to appease cutting-edge raiders, but it's done at the cost of groups who fall in between these two types of demographics.Simplest way to put it imo, coil was 7/10 and savage coil was 10/10.
Now we have like 3/10 normal and possibly 10/10 savage alex.
People who fit in the 7/10 difficulty are in limbo because 3 is too low and 10 is too high. If there has to be only 2 difficulty, the lowest one shouldn't be THAT low.
You'll often hear "x fight isn't hard, what's hard is finding 7 other people who can do it" because of this game's difficulty curve. This game can be discouraging to many new players getting into raiding because the "stepping stones" are often not there, and any time that anything is released that requires you to use the chat window instead of rushing in mindlessly and without a plan (Steps of Faith), or a 4 person dungeon punishes you for facerolling (original Pharos), the complaints are through the roof, and said content is immediately nerfed. Mechanics in this game are either often too easy, or challenging and punishing (as they should be). Making Alex Normal mode this easy honestly just takes away content from more "middle of the road" players if there is no progression content filling the gap between an easy mode and a hardcore mode.
What I am thankful for is that this normal mode is kinda like our new towers, and we hopefully won't have to deal with another 24 person mess again.

"Possibly" being the key word here...Simplest way to put it imo, coil was 7/10 and savage coil was 10/10.

There is no way alex savage is gonna be as difficult as savage scob was. Just no way. The clear rates for savage coil were so ludicrously low it would be impossible to justify spending more resources on development for something like this again. Seeing as Yoshi has already mentioned the possibility of an "even more savage" alexander depending on clear rates, im pretty confident than alex savage is gonna be, maybe a little more difficult than coil at best.
And while I agree scob was about a 7/10, fcob was more like a 6/10.
EDIT: And the 7/10-ers as you put it..are probably perfectly good enough to up their game a little and do savage

3/10 Alex difficulty is necessary so everyone can see the story.
10/10 Alex is necessary so this game doesn't become a joke in end game raiding content.
If you're a 7/10 player, do 10/10 content and maybe you can become a 10/10 player.
3/10 Alex difficulty is redundant because that's what the majority of endgame falls into.
7/10 Alex is necessary to give the more casual coil crowd some progression.
If you're a 3/10 player, do 7/10 content and maybe you can become a 7/10 player.

This...this is far from "end game"
