I wanted a game and all I got were cutscenes

The question really is why was it designed this way?

Because the developers want the focus of the experience to be on the story.

Of course, I'm sure you already know that; you just don't like it.

You could always do what one of my FC mates does: Skip all the cutscenes then have me give an abridged version at the end. All caps optional but more fun.

You can always skip the story and cutscenes if it's a problem for you. I have many friends who don't care about the story and got through the MSQ very fast. I really don't see the problem here.

I skipped all the quest cutscenes & dialogue after hitting Lv.20

I barely took more than 2 weeks to go from Lv.1 to 50 ilv110, and it was (ofc) without nay Armory Bonus, and mostly without any FC or item granting bonus XP.

Just press dat ESCAPE key boy ! It does wonders.

Thankfully, the later parts of the 2.55 MSQ is decent and then the Heavensward MSQ isn't too bad... So I stopped skipping there lol

I wish everyone would stop saying 'just watch 'em in the inn,' because the Inn journal has very few CS. Normally just the opening CS and the end CS for any dungeon/raid etc.

Example: Rock the Castrum shows the big speech outside the main gate, nothing at all during the instance, and we all know there were tons in there! Same for the Praetorium/Ultima fight. All we get is Gaius' parrting words and the frantic run to escape on the magitek reaper.

The one CS I really wanted to watch is not there..where we kill Lahabrea with the blade of light. Ugh...

Did you use the scrollbar? All the cutscenes were there for me.
Not saying it's optimal either..but. Yeah they were there.
