    i can imagine someone using a +2 gear in this process and then go F' berserk cause it was completely destroyed.

    im not saying to slap a person on the wrist for failing and only making them lose that materia, but don't take a knife to their gut and laugh as you watch the gear and materia evaporate into nothing.

    Yes, losing all the materia you had attached/were attaching would be punishment enough. Its losing the gear that would drive me up a wall. Its one thing if it was some crappy NQ low level gear I could get by the trillions...but then why would you attach materia to such a thing in the first place?
