[dev1017] Materia crafting system, alchemist rage

Seriously, out of all the jobs out there...ALCHEMISTS CANT attach materia? You are saying that the mythical job of turning things into gold and finding the secret of eternal life cannot attach a piece of rock to another material item?

    Why? O.o

In all honesty I would EXPECT alchemists to be the Disciple of the Hand with the best success rate when it comes to fuse two already existing items into a single more potent one.

You have a point. But If I may point out the (few) pieces of equipment that Alchemists do make ... and therefore are the only ones that can attach Materia to.
    • Blinding Dagger
    • Silencing Dagger
    • Sleeping Dagger
    • Paralyzing Dagger
    • Maddening Dagger
    • Poison Dagger
    • Oiled Bronze Pickaxe
    • Oiled Bronze Hatchet
    • Fish Saw

It's not much, but it's more than what the Culinarians get.

    materiaed potions? :P

Joke aside, maybe they will get more craftable items with the materia system or maybe they will get another thing. Like the fact that culinarians and alchemists do consumables (food and potions) with the revamp of the food and stats and possibly the efficiency of potions/elixirs, I think they can have a fair share of the market with that.

My point for alchemists is that so far they havent given any hint that each particular DoH gets to attach materias to their related items (I.E: crp can only attach materia to bows etc) so why not allow alchemist to do it as well?

Also Im crp and cul, im just wondering why alchemists cant xD

... Ok so... Cooking I can understand...

But Alchemy? D= Why no love for the Alchemists! Tis a travesty!

I say is that they better give you guys something cool to compensate for the lack of materia action!

I'm pretty sure there aren't any myths about alchemists turning lead into coal, but I could be wrong. >_>

    * In order to attach materia to a certain piece of equipment, Disciples of the Hand must fulfill the class and level requirements for crafting it.

^^ You mean like this? Besides, looking at the post again:

Attaching materia requires the “materia melder” key item, an apparatus which can be obtained via a quest available to Disciples of the Hand level 18 or above (with the exception of culinarians and alchemists). The apparatus allows players to attach one piece of materia per item.
It doesn't say you can't attach materia, just that you don't get the quest for the item. Unless they're taking away your enhanced item synths and giving them to another class, ALC literally has to be the class to modify those items.

It's not much, but it's more than what the Culinarians get.
Those will most likely be simplified into BSM/CRP recipe. Welcome to new crafting.
