They already scrapped gender uniqueness for the most part, females get to wear every piece of armor in the game while still sitting on their female only restricted stuff.
Gobau Ra joins the fight !

Name me a few, as i have seen, all the Female peices have male counterparts to them, just named differently, much like most other gear in this game, looks different on each gender or race, what is that females have that you desire to see on males so badly. and no they can't wear "every peice" i sure as hell can't put on any starter race gear for other races.
The gender uniqueness was never scraped, you just don't seem to be happy with the ones you have.
Thavnarian dancer set, bunny GS set, spring dress ( minus skirt ), bridemaid get.Name me a few, as i have seen, all the Female peices have male counterparts to them, just named differently, much like most other gear in this game, looks different on each gender or race, what is that females have that you desire to see on males so badly. and no they can't wear "every peice" i sure as hell can't put on any starter race gear for other races.

~Quit moping, get hoping~
Thavnarian set has a male set.. its called Balareo instead, unless you just want male to wear the female set that looks very girly. (is that your thing?)
And let's be realistic here, do you really think males should be running around in a bunny set, a spring dress (the expasion actually gave a ton of long dresses and kilts anyway, so this one is moot)
and bridesmaid set, same thing, male counterpart, you won't see many weddings where males are wearing bridesmaid outfits. These are not very valid items to give as examples as most people can cleary see why they are female only, unless you just want to see a full cross dressing option.
I wouldn't say those are true male counterparts because they are not male only, girls can wear those too.Thavnarian set has a male set.. its called Balareo instead, unless you just want male to wear the female set that looks very girly. (is that your thing?)

You could make bunny sets sexy on male, Thevanarian bolero isn't an equivalent, it's unisex, and much less a dancer revealing gear.Thavnarian set has a male set.. its called Balareo instead, unless you just want male to wear the female set that looks very girly. (is that your thing?)

Same for wedding gear, male one is unisex, females gets both.
So yeah, no exclusive counterpart for male for any of them.
The only true male/female exclusive are FFXIII and wedding gear.
It's hard to explain why those do make sense on females, Females irl have been known to socially wear tuxedos and male orinitend clothing and not look odd. but there isn't much you can do about it.
This seems to just be a case of deal with it.
That's precisely what he's arguing
Girls can wear sets that are oriented to male characters, because they look cool in them, but the game doesn't allow the other way around
I think the way to solve this is to either give male more male-only costumes or make sets oriented to females also wearable to male characters
Currently male characters do have a disadvantage in this regard and it's only fair to fix that for them
Same-sex eternal bond is possible, I don't see why cross dressing is not an option. After all, Cloud in FF7 did famously cross dress.
