Is it still to early for speed runs?

You should be thankful you're on the official forums. In other forums, you will get downvoted to hell and people will tell you, that 1 week is more than enough to hit 60 and get full 170s so anyone still wearing 58/59 gear should either come as DPS or farm the daily Roulettes until they get full 170 before coming to tank/heal in the EX.Roulette.

Heck, Reddit already is of the opinion that 1 week after official release, it is everyone's responsibility to read up on strategy and watch a YouTube video before jumping into the two EX Primal trials. That place works in a different time paradigm.

Those people will be waiting an awful long time then.

I'm of the opinion that "speedpulls" aren't going to be viable until one generation of "tomes" gear goes by. Unlike ARR launch where people wanted full darklight just to WP and AK... you know the very same dungeons that give the tomes in the first place, it's still possible to get usable drops from just the EX dungeons. Hell in a single run through Neverreap at the bare minimum 142 ilevel I got 4 items for my job I was playing. That's something that NEVER happened in any of the ARR dungeons. That brought the ilevel up to 150. The first time through "The Vault" did something similar. The ARR dungeons you were lucky if you even got one item that anyone in the party could use.

Like I think the "rare gear" drops from chests have changed in a way to actually consider the party composition. The only other drops during that run were for Dragoon (one of the DPS party members) and Tank. Or maybe it's just a coincidence. On the other hand... the SAME item dropped twice.

LIES! I'm fully convinced that healer gear does not exist in the dungeons. aside from belts, rings, and bracelets. And when they drop, its like "hey bro it's gear what are you complaining about". "Oh, I already had these from the last 6 chests in this dungeon".

My first ever tanking drop from the new dungeons was like at 59 or after I dinged 60. Not exactly sure but I had full quested gear for a very long time...

just depends on group composition, and if healer and/or tank is willing. personally the mobs still hit a little to hard for me to deem it worthwhile for the expert dungeons, but a few of the sohm al, the 53 dungeon and dusk vigil are pretty trivial to SR.

spammed sohm al for the tank set, but otherwise i used crafted gear. honestly the library set is stupid for tanks anyway.

sorry, but the drops still don't consider the composition of the party
i have seen like billions of ninja gear drops and no ninja on the party at all
the drop sistem is still the same what on ARR, since it took me like at least 10 runs to get like 3 pieces from the lvl 60 dungeons for me actual job, where most of the time, the gear it droped whas for dps classes what weren't there
so yes... you are a very lucky fellow

ppl who think this way may also need a real life outside of an mmo :P just saying but really ppl who think this way need to stay in PF and stay away form DF

Never too early for speed runs in this game.

Run passed everything > Stop > Press all the buttons

will always be a viable strategy for a highly casualized game like ffxiv. Nothing is threatening in normal or even hard mode dungeons.
