Wrong as of now its DRG>MNK>NIN on target dummies. obviously raids aren't target dummies but still have to point it out.Lol keep up with other 2 gtfo nin better burst and slightly better still bebettein sustain dps than monk. nin sit 2 nd place right now. So u only need to worry about drg. Drg is holding the number one spot for burst and sustain atm. I think aurily did 1.2k sustain in 3 min.
Not sure if this is possible. The class already has an absurd amount of oGCD damage going out. 200 potency execute, 140 potency mug, 80 potency jugulate, 300 potency DWAD, Duality is already a 260-320 potency ability. Technically, all of the Mudras are half-oGCD, some can be taken down to flat out oGCD if you're fast enough (notably Raitons). Kassatsu itself is another 360 potency (well, it depends, but generally is 360). Duality is already a pretty strong ability. It'd be fun to use it more often, but I think it'd be hard to balance.
Quality of life would be to make DE last 40ish seconds so that you can actually use more than 1 AE a minute. If you don't have a warrior in your party, your basically never get to AE.
I said it that way since have seen no 3 min vid stating ur claim. The latest video I have seen is from a nin @3min did 1.154k vs a monk @3min did 1.140k on a dummy. So unless u can provide a link where a monk does better than that that would be appreciated.
Ok did some digging heres what I got a 3min on nin vs mnk
I'll post link

Lol Firhna in the grp as a smn for the both of the link. I'm surprise he not on nin.
Monks in the forum topic talking about doing about 1200 on a dummy and about ravana ex its damn melee unfriendly from all the jumps and Firana is playing SMN becasue he like how they looked and was originally a smnRavanah ex parse w/out 190 weapon

DRG was below NIN and MNK before 3.0 in both damage and raid utility. Finally DRG got better damage, but NIN and MNK still have better utility. I think it's fair. Besides, DRG is ahead by such a small amount and maintaining our 1st tier DPS is completely predicated on maintaining BoTD which is lost very easily if the mob dashes or knocks back...which is often in HW. Should NIN be #1 top DPS >AND< have versatility/raid utility? No. DRG may be top1 but we have like 1 raid ability on a huge timer and only buff BRD and MCH. I'm sure NIN+DRK or NIN+WAR actually yields higher raid DPS than DRG+WAR or DRG+DRK due to how great WAR and DRK's DPS is and since NIN can buff them 10%, it's likely close to or exceeds DRG's individual damage.
You really underestimate battle litancy and disembowl and overestimate goad and trick attack unless you speak of the threat abilities but those are pretty much a joke.DRG was below NIN and MNK before 3.0 in both damage and raid utility. Most likely melee setups for cutting edge progression groups
Monk/Drg if fights aren't that punishing to melee and have high magic damage aoe (You know SE loves these now) becasue DRK's version of the Int reduction involves them MT and come one you know they wont' take a DRK. It will be WAR/PLD
second setup
DRG/NIN this is if there isn't any high magic damage. and melee gets punished a decent amount.
since BRD/MCH will be needed DRGs won't be dropped at all

ravana ex is the worst example to base class performance off of lol
if you kill before final liberation finishes and play optimally, you could break 850 (900 even) dps as a melee, without NIN/AST even
in an actual raid, even in something like T8, a ninja will be very close with a monk, probably being even or just barely beating them if it was purely single target (t8 has dreads which monks could EF/HF on, but if it was just the boss is what i'm saying) because the warrior will be supplying eye, which is a fairly good dps increase for ninja, around 2%, and foes whenever applicable. when you add any type of add phase that the monk can cleave the adds/the boss with eachother though, EF+HF is extremely potent. if a fight has fights that work against BoTD/GL uptime, then NIN has the least trouble of the three melee in maintaining their sustained dps as well. in the end, NIN is still higher contributed than MNK in a single target, 100% uptime setting dps because of goad/trick attack/shadewalker, while MNK brings good dps+defensive utility
even smoke screen can be a dps increase; if the tanks that aren't in tank stance don't have to use threat combos to ensure that the regen ticks from the WHM don't pull aggro, that's a possible DPS gain. the immediate use isn't obvious, but it's there still in various forms that support your raid
