Agree'd they may be "over" but most of the players I know who are here, aren't here for a quick "easymode" type game. As for the comment about whose going to win, I wouldn't count those chickens yet. SE and it's FF MMO base fan's are what they want here. They ALSO want those casual once in awhile types too. They won't crap on this game just to please those who don't play as much. That's a waste of money. The base fans will keep this game running and so will others tired of wasting 60$ on a game only to have all the server pops crash and in 3 months the game is over. People WANT a game they can constantly come back to and be worth the initial investment and following monthly fees.

We are gonna have to just agree to disagree and than wait, and see.

Not that I disagree with your stance, argument, or wish to be disrespectful...but this is the internet. Individual thought is tantamount to heresy.

If your going to have a MMO where you can do all the missions and quests in a short period of time "casual players" , whats to keep them playing if there is nothing else to do,. which i also think would effect the monthly fees SE would be collecting , if there is nothing else to do why play the game. i think maybe 20% of the player base is casual, if if they can do everything in the game in a short period of time, what will the other 80% be doing? moving on to different games ? Loging on to use the game as a social chat room sucks, I do hope the "casual players" do not get what they want.

I've also played games that were very short and very difficult along with ones that were long but stupidly easy. Time spent means nothing. How satisfying the content is to the individual playing it is all that matters.

The problem with MMOs comes in the fact that everyone is playing differently and views the content differently. The hardcore want timesinks to prove they're hardcore, the less invested players want accessibility. Guess who's gonna win? The days of uberlong timesinks in MMOs are pretty much over.
It would help if MMO makes would quit synonymizing difficulty and amount of time spent. FFXI Relics were SE's version of difficult. Riddil and Defending Ring were difficult because of super rare drop rates from rare mobs.

Why not just add ridiculously hard content that isn't for everyone, with grossly overpowered rewards. Instant gratification - If you're leet. Then add some more instanced easy junk with mediocre rewards. Everyone wins and the hardcores can feel hardcore once again.

If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.

It's funny I bet you don't even realize that your defense applies to both sides of the argument lol. I don't want 'casual' players telling the devs to change the game in such a way that the devs are telling me what to do in terms of easy things.

Time is not the measure in this argument. Time doesn't separate the 50 LNC from the 50 ARC or CON or GLA or THM. If someone has more classes than 1 of those or any, then it's dedication that's different not time. Most of us have been playing since roughly the same time.

Exactly.. if 20% of casual players can blow by "content in easymode" in 2 weeks.. the other 80% will blow by it in half the time then what? 50% of the 20% clear it in a week which leaves 10% of casual players left doing content for another week while the 100% of the 80% have nothing to do cept move to another game. Unless SE can pump out content at a really fast pace every week...

I think it's all about having a good time.

If both hardcore and casual players are enjoying themselves, then what does it matter? Make the game for both camps to enjoy. There's no need to shut out anyone.

LMFAO I whole-heartedly agree with OP. He makes valuable points. I put in my time, and I get rewarded for that. Some people don't put in the time, and then QQ on forums to get recognition by other people who don't put in the time accusing an unfinished game of being 'unbalanced' and 'broken'.
