    Just play the game....

This is Sammmmmyyy Redeye , Posting from work, wouldent let me log onto my main account.

So i read the forums often, seeing all these people QQ about the game. It really bugs me to see people say the game is too hard, or say only certain jobs can do what ever they cant do. Back in FFXI pretty much everything in that game took months if not years before ppl figured out the easy way of doing things.

Doing COP missions was the worst, but you know what, when i did get it done i felt really good . Knowing that i did work and got it done was great. It was a few years before they dumbd down COP missions and now its a cake walk.

FFXIV is still in my book Beta, and i really don't think the game should be made easy for everyone, yea so what if your a casual player, maybe you only have 1 job to 50, boohoo, i dont think you should be able to complete the 45 raid, put some more time in the game before you start to wine you cant do it.

I was kinda annoyed that i saw someone post they are upset they cant to the speed run, and there upset that its best for ARC's to use for DD. maybe they forgot or over lookd that you only get a BOW and SWORD for the ARC's and the tank that will be there doing the speed run. Shouldent he be wanting to do normal runs...? I mean if he wants a the BOW , lvl up ARC and go on that job lolz..

Yea iam rambling, but i got time too kill here at work, ill post more when i think of more to complain about .

People shouldent expect to play a game for 2-3 months that is made and designed to last for years and be able to beat everything and have everything.

And people shouldn't expect other people to tell them how they should or should not play or what they should and should not expect in terms of content. Time is not a good measure of difficulty or value.

seems like 90% of the compliant forums are from the people who cant do this or cant do that, demanding that he or she should do this to fix it...

Simply pointing out the fact that they shouldent be complaining is verry reasonable.

He didn't say you HAD to do anything. He was making a suggestion.

Personally, I disagree with you. Time is a good measure for difficulty. Want proof, read a gaming magazine or one that reviews games. One of the criteria is time needed to play/finish and the ability to play the game IF or after you finish.

As for your content staement. Again...don't see anywhere he says what anyone should expect for content. LOL We as players know what we would LIKE for content.

I take professional reviewers about as seriously as I take burning clowns. Time as a measure of difficulty or value is not a good metric due to it's high subjectivity. The very fact that we're debating it proves my point. I've played 10hr games that were worth every penny I spent at full price and played 30hr games that weren't worth the cost of the disc they were pressed on. I've also played games that were very short and very difficult along with ones that were long but stupidly easy. Time spent means nothing. How satisfying the content is to the individual playing it is all that matters.

The problem with MMOs comes in the fact that everyone is playing differently and views the content differently. The hardcore want timesinks to prove they're hardcore, the less invested players want accessibility. Guess who's gonna win? The days of uberlong timesinks in MMOs are pretty much over.

It would help if MMO makes would quit synonymizing difficulty and amount of time spent. FFXI Relics were SE's version of difficult. Riddil and Defending Ring were difficult because of super rare drop rates from rare mobs.

Why not just add ridiculously hard content that isn't for everyone, with grossly overpowered rewards. Instant gratification - If you're leet. Then add some more instanced easy junk with mediocre rewards. Everyone wins and the hardcores can feel hardcore once again.

If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.

It's funny I bet you don't even realize that your defense applies to both sides of the argument lol. I don't want 'casual' players telling the devs to change the game in such a way that the devs are telling me what to do in terms of easy things.

Time is not the measure in this argument. Time doesn't separate the 50 LNC from the 50 ARC or CON or GLA or THM. If someone has more classes than 1 of those or any, then it's dedication that's different not time. Most of us have been playing since roughly the same time.
