

It is a problem that as the tank gets better gear (with more HP), it becomes that much harder to recover. Maybe if it was some sort of base HP value that ignored your gear & optional stats?


Base HP(ignoring gear) or 50% of their health to recover from Living Dead.
It's not supposed to be like Hallowed Ground. That's the most powerful cooldown in the game. They're not going to give the other tanks an equivalent. Square clearly made the design decision that PLD is the main tank of this game.

It doesn't NEED to be like HG, that's not what we're saying. It just needs some reworking so that the damn thing can actually be USED in a high paced fight where lots of movement is being done because as it stands it's not even half as good as holmgang or hollowed ground. But I'm positive Yoshi P and his staff have already realized this so it's only a matter of time before living dead gets a tweak. It needs it. It's a fact.


Well I'd be equally pleased with an increase to Holmgang as well. One of two receiving an HP return at the end of the effects duration equal to the amount of damage received whilst at 1HP, the other receiving HP equal to the amount of damage delivered whilst the status was up.
Both CDs are fine as is for coordinated, premade raiding. It's PUG where they fall short of any potential.
And holmgang can be pretty mean in PvP

That's just it....living dead is NOT fine even in a premade coordinated raid. That's literally what the healer about was just talking about when trying to use it during his ravana ex runs.

The other issue is that even when coordinated the healer must blow all their cds to meet the hp threshhold needed to save the tank consuming their ability to have these cds available to continue sustaining them through high damage.
There is also an animation delay between when the tank's hp reaches 1 and when the buff is applied. If I immediately start healing to meet the hp check then my biggest heals are wasted.
They should consider extending the buff to 15 seconds to give us ample time to heal them without blowing all our insta-heals and major cds. And they should fix the animation delay.

I wouldn't increase the duration of Walking Dead. Keep in mind that when you hit Walking Dead status, you can't be killed until the timer runs out. So you prolonged a fight for 5 seconds more which can be 5 seconds more DPS. The best idea is simply to reduce the amount of HP needed to remove Walking Dead status.

Living Dead is mechanically sound. The only issue is you have to have actual communication with your healers to use it properly. In a raid setting this ability is pretty damn good.

Hmm maybe change it to swap places with your darkside(we DO get it just after that) so we ARE calling on him.
It coukd instead make it so we cannot use grit deal extra damage and get a sort of "Shield" for say half our health(that or more). The shield would be a buff implying our darkside has taken control.
MAYBE MAYBE even rename it to "Takeover" or "Swap" as in we are being taken over/swapping with our darkside..
Hmm ANOTHER idea might be to summon a weaker version of us that upon death we swap to.
