Forcing us to the entire story quest to unlock the new classes is just bad business

I wonder how many of the people whos "friends" bought this expecting to have the jobs and Ishgard right away we sold that notion by the person doing the arguing and not by any unclear marketing on SEs part.

I still get a kick out of this whole arguement though.

There are also comments at various retailers that would let people know they need to progress deep into the story---some specifically state the 2.55 progression requirement even. And there were questions asked at some about whether to get the bundle, or get just the base game and wait until they completed ARR or got to a specific iLevel (i90 and such).

Don't get how in this great age of easy access to information on nearly any topic at your fingertips...people would still be buying this game as a new player and NOT understand that not everything in the expansion is available to you from the start...

I think we better name this game with other name because some player don't like quest, they just want to whack some monster and get better gear. Final Fantasy name is not suitable for it because Final Fantasy is about story and quest....

Ikr? It's like when a game gates the final boss so that you're forced to play all the previous levels first. So annoying.

Thats a horrible example. Boss fights have a story behind but tbh I skip the story so maybe you example isn't a bad one, just the story is.

Except that there was no introduction of those jobs as the original story (2.x) progressed--whereas DRG was. The story doesn't really provide a means to introduce them until we hit Ishgard---we aren't teaming up with their forces in a large enough capacity yet until that point. Perhaps you haven't followed the story too well?

And again, they could have made minor side-story quests or quest-lines set at around level 30, available to all who had registered Heavensward in the Mogstation, leading to the job trainers and explaining why they're there (presumably Coerthas). They chose not to do so, but please don't use "there's no explanation" or "but lore reasons" as an argument for why they're in Ishgard, when the only reason there isn't one is because they decided not to introduce one pointing to the contrary.

When people argue "I wish they'd have done A and/or B instead of C", that's the equivalent of counter-arguing with "well, there's no foundation for them being able to do A or B because they did C", and... it just frustrates me. Because to change from C to A or B would /include/ a reason for it to be A or B instead of C.

I don't particularly care much either way, since I personally am not interested in the new jobs enough to want to change my main (though I will at some point level them up), but that doesn't mean I can't disagree with the arguments made. Yes, there's little chance of them changing these jobs now, but at least there's the hope they won't do the same the next time they decide to add new jobs with an expansion.

Yaaassss. Why do we not have those jobs opened in coerthas with the job requirement of level 50. instead its level 50 + 20+ hours of zombie mode questing, And don't say because it doesn't go with MSQ because the 3 new jobs themselves are already side quests, why could you not set up those side quests within coerthas for lvl 50 as opposed to on the other side of the bridge with our 2.1-2.55 troll blocking us from the other side unless we give him 15hrs of questing
