Sorry pal, but you're not better than the players who haven't started yet, just 'cause you were foolish enough to pick up the game at launch. In fact, I'd say they've got at least one up on you there.

It's not elitism, it's to prevent the inevitable whining that will ensue afterwards. If you let low rank players go anywhere they please, they will do so, then the forum will flood with people complaining that "hard mobs are preventing my r10 character from travelling to places they shouldn't go in the first place". Then of course SE will have to do something about it, and make the game even easier. Why can't you see the bigger picture?

Not really sure what the point of this is supposed to be. You can thank the "foolish people" who picked up the game at launch for keeping FFXIV even still on the market, pal. Without us, there would be no game right now, you're welcome.
