Increase the hp of all fate mobs to match those of the expansion.

This way you don't need to nerf the new content.

Is there some reason the legitimate pre-level-50 people should have to suffer for this? Do you just not like them or something?

Um, I'm soloing fates often enough in 3.0 zones, especially if there isn't a boss monster involved. When everyone runs a fate, the HP scales up higher the next time it spawns. When no one runs a fate, the HP scales down. Those first few fates in western coethas are a nightmare, because everyone that walks into the zone smacks those mobs a bit, and they always come back beefier than before.

Try finding a fate a little more removed from the main traffic routes, and you'll usually find the enemies are a good 4-5 levels lower than mobs in the zone and die faster than normal enemies. If LITERALLY no one is running the fates, then they will all be incredibly weak and easy to kill.

Just don't expect to get the same xp as you would from a quest. Fate completion + mob kill xp rarely goes higher than 25-30k.

    Yep ^ pretty much that.

When Fates give more exp you will see more players roaming about. Until then its dungeons and fate parties pre 50. Once you hit 50+ You are gona do dungeons and what little quest you have up for 50+ and guild leaves/etc

The new fates in the first zone give 8k or 14k depending on which one. If they gave as much as you say people would be doing them like crazy because that's more than the story missions and sidequests give at that level.

They should lower the time it takes to finish those FATEs in HW areas and give out more exp. It would get people to flock to them.

    To reiterate:

The real reason that everyone does NT is simply that it's easy to congregate and get to a lot of FATEs easily. The new HW zones are far too large and the FATEs too spread out. The FATEs really aren't any more difficult. I did some FATEs with my wife in West Coerthas last night and they were very easy, no worse than a FATE in NT.
