FFXIV Portable would be badass but we really have to consider how the controls are going to be without voice chat. How are you going to type? On-screen keyboard?

I think the good solution here would be to add FFXIV to Steam - This would allow Steam on PS3 to control FFXIV's voice chat and allow messaging and whatnot. Plus, Steam voice chat is cross-platform and is currently on PS3 distributed via Portal.

Nice idea, but that would involve going through a different company.

And let's recall that the reason there is no XBox360 version happening is because SE do not want to go through the XBox Live rules. Who knows what control, rules and restrictions Steam would want?

This is currently possible using a program called splashtop hd with an android tablet. Works great on wifi, but is laggy and eats up alot of data over 3g. The program is 15 bucks I think, but there is a cracked version floating around on the internet somewhere. Works great on my toshiba thrive tablet over wifi.

Vita will have a mini usb port that they could use as a keyboard attachment point. Now don't ask me where I've seen it but it's true.

One issue is that the Vita's max resolution is 960 X 544 and FFXIV requires at least 720p. Even if you did manage to squeeze it down somehow, much of the text will end up illegible. Still, maybe someday the possibility will arrive. Technology changes so fast.

FFXI is on steam and all of SE games for PC are on there also so i don't think that be much of a issue.
