Ok, so Heavensward makes it to top 10 as a subscription based MMO and you say it is disappointing? Sorry, but I feel no disappointment here.. actually I am pretty satisfied.
Plus I know maybe like 2 guys in my FC who bought HW from retailers lol.

are you people seriously discussing this, its retauil statistics, like 10% of pc sales are retail anymore.

So... an English originated game sold better RETAIL than a Japanese originated game (that does most stuff digital).
You probably be hard pressed to find that many stores with many physical copies in stock of FFXIV or HW, just saying.

You know, if you check Steam, it's also around that area, ranked 7th, just above Fallout 4 (which isn't even released yet, congratulations Yoshi, your game beat a pre-order!)
My post wasn't a joke. A market as big as the UK is a ample sample size to see how the game is selling in other markets worldwide.
The only difference will be Japan as there game market is very different from the rest of the world.
A good example would be this. The X box one only sold 100 units last week in Japan yes you read that right ONLY 100 http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-reaches-a...ium=Socialflow
this, I work at gamestop and we barely had anyone show me, the customers I know that played it, myself, and a co-worker all bought it online.
thing is, in general this game isn't as popular in europe compared to other areas for several reasons. It's really not the best comparisonMy post wasn't a joke. A market as big as the UK is a ample sample size to see how the game is selling in other markets worldwide.

That's insanely good, considering how many limitations the Steam version is causing, and thus how few people actually use it for FFXIV.

This doesn't include digital sales. Probably doesn't include anything bought before Early Access, and I only know a few people who bought HW on/after the June 23rd release.
Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh
Who the heck cares about steam in case of an mmo???
Srsly <.<
Guys stop bitching about irrelevant numbers Ô.o
MMORPG is a very specific genre after. Stop comparing it to things that don't matter at all.
The only thing that counts is how many subscribers wow will lose to it in the end.

Time to stop replying only to things you can prove wrong and realise that most players bought the game in digital state. Especially the collectors. My post wasn't a joke. A market as big as the UK is a ample sample size to see how the game is selling in other markets worldwide.
